Pelican1670-000-110 Protector Case Black w/Foam, one Size

Keeping this short, I don't have the time right now to type a great review.The Pelican cases are fantastic. Whatever you may need to store in one of theses cases, the cases will serve you well. They are sturdier than anything else you'll find on the market, and the plucking foam makes organizing the boxes very easy.I bought this case for my telescope accessories which include a spotter scope, eyepieces (one which is very large, around 6 pounds by itself), laser collimator and several other accessories. All you have to do is get an estimated size of your gear to decide which case will be adequate. Pelican stands behind their products and will do whatever it takes to keep you happy. The instructions/guide that came with the box were very short but cleverly precise.I give the product five stars for superior quality, dependable customer support and tons of versatility.

***1ST REVIEW 08/04/2010I bought this case for some musical equipment I planned on carrying around. I underestimated the size of this thing. IT'S HUGE!!! I won't particularly be carrying this around much. The amount and size of the equipment I planned to store in here is not really that big in size, but combined would not all fit in the Pelican 1500 width and length wise. Basically I needed a case with the width and length of this case, but not so much depth. That is what makes this thing a goliath. But I am not going to base this review of my tailored needs.This case is super solid, super sturdy, and tight. The clamps are a little tough to open, but that not a con when you're storing expensive equipment such as microphones, which I am.Also, the perforated foam is great for making this case 'yours', but it can be a little messy and hard to plan out. It took me about three hours to get mine all cut out to shape for my microphones and preamps. I don't think I would ever want to do that again.It's a shame the depth is being wasted in my case. I may possible use the bottom for another set of microphones in the future, but right now it is serving its purpose, and taking up a lot of space doing it. lolI recommend this case for the protection of your electronics, but if you plan on traveling a lot and don't need as much space, definitely go for the smaller ones.****UPDATED! 08/09/2014Ok...so as mentioned a couple years ago (4 years to be exact)....i was not fully utilizing the space of this case, and now have decided to downgrade to something smaller for my microphones instead. Hmmm....what else can I use this for then....??? I KNOW!!! My JBL LSR305 Studio monitors!!! DOHHH!!! They dont fit!!! But why!?!?!?In looking at pelican's website for the exact dimensions, it claims to be 7.99" in depth (height). The depth of the speakers are 7.28". So why is the not even remotely close to being able to close with these speakers sitting inside them? Well....it seems pelican is giving you the exact dimensions of the case itself. They are not accounting for their non perforated foam lid and base protection, which is odd, because these are not meant to be cut. They are meant to be in there and not taken out or altered. So why not account for this space deduction? I can imagine anyone that would want to store anything expensive in there without some sort of shock protection.I'm glad I found this out considering my circumstances as opposed to buying it based off the interior dimensions and then not having it fit and having to go though the headache of sending this behemoth back!Be warned when shopping for pelican cases! MAKE SURE you product has an ample amount more that the depth of your item you plan to store. I'd say at least 2 inches to account for their non perforated lid and base foam protector.

This is a very well built case. I like the foam cutouts. You can customize it to what ever shape you need. The case is air tight and does not leak at all. This caused a little issue for me a few weeks ago. My wife tried to ship an actual pelican back from the beach in this thing. She sent it next day to her sister, but the pelican was DOA. I don't blame that on the good people at Pelican. The case was not intended to ship wildlife, although I'm sure the Pelican people would make an excellent wildlife shipping crate if they wanted. Over all, I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this case to a friend.

This is a very good case. Well built, sturdy and apparently indestructible.There are only two negative comments about the case, but I don't think they are worth not buying it. First, the case is HEAVY! After I put my large laptop in it and accessories, it weighs a ton.Second, the latches are confusing. You need to make sure you press them all the way down to lock the case closed. My first time closing the case was not thorough. I thought I had the latches closed all the way, but they weren't.I walked several feet with my brand new $3,800 laptop inside, only to realize moments later that the case door was dangling open! Yikes!Nothing's perfect. If you're in the market for a case like this, I recommend getting it. Just pump some iron first so you can haul it around ok!

I ordered the item and had some problems with the shipping. I notified the seller and the seller responded to the problem lightning fast. I really give great credit to the seller for making sure that everything was taken cared of. I received the item and, at first I was having second thoughts because some of the reviews mentioned that the foam was not included. To my surprise, all the items mentioned by the seller was included, item was new and had no visible scratches. I reconfigured the foam to my equipment design and fits great. I am very happy with the product and the most important of all the super great seller. Oh by the way pelican products are really great and tested. I emailed the seller and gave thanks and ask them if they still have another item.. I will definitely do business with the seller again.

I bought this case to mount on the back of my vehicle and needed it to be 1) durable and 2) waterproof as it is exposed to the elements 24/7. I've had it for a few months and so far it has exceeded my expectations. The case is well made and justifies the price.

The item shown (Pelican 1600) is NOT the correct photo!... This item states "comes W/Foam" and it DOES NOT. Adorama was not willing to send the foam without me re-packing, and returning what was shipped originally (incomplete) and waiting 6-14 days for the product to arrive as described.Buyer Beware!!!...A Pelican case is the finest case on the market...but the photo, price, and listing is INCORRECT on Amazon, and Adorama basically said "it's your problem".Shame on you Amazon... as if we need more stress in our lives. What an inconvenience!
