All I can say is This is Magnificent!
I am a Dr and at my workstation where I prepare tools for surgery I needed a system to keep the tools cool while under light...my Husband and I hooked this up to two 120mm pc fans and it is purely amazing how accurate, easy, and useful it is. within 5 minutes we had the fan installed, working, and cooling the utensils to room temperature 0f 72 degrees while under a spotlight. Godsend of an item!.. P.S about 1 minute after the light is turned off, the fans stop as the temperature at prep table is back to normal room temperature.

No Hyseresis Loop in the design
I attached the sensor to a heat sink and a cooling fan blowing at the heat sink. It seems that the design did not incorporate a hysteresis loop for different turn-on and turn-off set points. As a result, the fan turns on to cool the device, but moments later it turns off because the device is cooled below the set point, as soon as the fan stops, the device quickly heats up above the set point and the fan turns on momentary, then stop again .... and so the cycle repeats. You'll see that the fan turns on and off in short bursts continuously as the heat sink temperature vacillates around the set point. The overall setup works ok to keeps the heat sink from being too hot (that's why I give it 4 stars), but a hysteresis loop of two or three degrees built into the circuit will eliminate a lot of unnecessary fan stops and goes.

It has limited programability, but it does exactly what it is supposed to.
I use these to retrofit older computers that either do not have heat/speed control built-in or the circuitry has gone bad (It happen a lot more often than you might think). It isn't necessarily built for this application, but I am also using one of these as a fail-safe control in an old From 250 truck. Works like a charm. I'm sure there are more applications I haven't discovered yet.

Worked for my project
Exactly what I needed to get my fans to shut off when they weren't needed. Had to add extra fans to keep an amp cool but at full speed with the radio down they make a very noticable hum. This device allowed me to keep the fans off until they are needed to actually cool the amp

Functional controller but needs instructions.
Good construction except for only one hole for mounting and long exposed leads on bottom. No instructions provided. Advertised as a 12V fan controller but has +12V and -12V as inputs. No way to tell the fan on trigger temperature except by testing.

Great BUT!
This item does exactly what I bought it for .But it didn't come with any documentation. Thanks to some previous buyers on Amazon they posted some that they found.

Awesome little CPU fan controller
Awesome little CPU fan controller. I have it paired up with a 120mm fan, and it ramps up nicely when I set the threshold to about 40c.
