I was a little hesitant to buy this place mat due to its price. I wasn't just buying one but two for my 4 year old and 2 year old so the idea of spending almost $40 on place mats for kids who'd only use them for a few years seemed a little out there. The other place mats that I have for my kids were only a few bucks and had pictures of their favorite cartoon characters on it but I wanted to try these out for the following reasons:1. Looking for something that my mischievous son wouldn't be able to push around so easily on the table2. Dishwasher safe3. Intrigued by the the little food catcher on the bottom that hangs over the side of the tableI have to say these place mats have completely met my expectations! At first I thought they seemed small, almost like it was only meant for infants. I almost didn't even try them out thinking they were too small but I figured I should try it for one meal. My kids plates fit perfectly within the confines of the mat, though there wasn't much room above it. Immediately, I saw the benefits of having this mat, when my son's plates and bowls didn't get pushed around as easily with his moving around while eating. The biggest benefit to this though is the little food catcher. The time that it's saved me in making the clean up easier is definitely worth the price paid. After three meals, my dining table edge has always been caked with food which I would have to scrub, scrub, scrub to get out but no longer! In addition, I can just throw the mats in my dishwasher in the evening and because they are thin and flexible, it can fit any way that I need it to. These mats were definitely worth its price in the time that it's saved me in clean up. I only wish I had known about this when my kids first started on solids. I highly recommend this as part of any parent's arsenal of feeding related supplies.

We take it to restaurants to put down on the table so we can put food on it because my kid is too young for a plate. Just throws the plates. It gives us peace of mind knowing it’s clean, is super easy to clean, great at catching food that falls for our self feeder, and stays suctioned even after numerous trips through the dish washer. Love love it.

This is one of those products where the idea is better than the product in actual everyday use. The idea is perfect. The design is just right - perfect size and shape. The little crumb catcher tray works surprisingly well, although my daughter loves to grab it and fling the crumbs everywhere once she sees them in there. The mat generally stays put on the table and the material is perfect for this type of product - grippy without being sticky, soft but tough, and thick enough while still rolling up easily. Although less important than all the above, I do like the color as well (ours is the green one). The problem with the mat is not in its design, but in the way our child interacts with it. Because it relies on gravity and friction to stay in place, our daughter is free to pick it up and fling food EVERYWHERE whenever she pleases - usually when you take two steps from the table to grab something. This is especially embarrassing at a restaurant when cracker crumbs and bits of chicken are flying all the way to the feet of those who are at the next table over! As I said though, this is an issue with how our daughter interacts with the product and not the product itself. But beware if you think this will solve your "messy toddler" problems! This is a great product for keeping baby's food on a clean surface, but they WILL discover that they can pull it from the table eventually. When they do, watch out!

I got a green colored one at a garage sale and it worked so well containing all my beads from rolling off the desk. The little tray at the edge of the desk captured all my rogue beads before they fell to the floor. It also has a mini lip surrounding the entire mat so the beads stay within the mat. The green one did NOT allow me to see the true bead colors, so I ordered the white. Sorry folks hoping for a review for toddlers eating off of this. Truthfully, I don't think white is the best color for food spills (cause it will probably stain the mat), but in my case, the white works so wonderfully! This is way better rather than using that felted bead mat that goes bad after a while.

So easy to use when out and about. I just keep this in my diaper bag. I had one just like this 11 years ago with my eldest but it had suction on the bottom. U fortunately I can’t find the same brand anymore. So this is the only downside with this mat, it doesn’t have any suctioning at all. My baby likes to lift it off and play with it. Other than that, I love using it and putting my sons food on there when out at restaurants. Keeps him from touching the table. Easy to clean and carry.

i bought this product three years ago and have washed it hundreds of times and it still looks brand new. it stays in place and is great for catching most food that doesn’t make it to my 4 year old’s mouth. he’s still a somewhat messy eater so we still use it daily. i’m about to buy it in another color for my other child. highly recommend!

There is really nothing bad to say about this product. It’s been used multiple times almost everyday for almost 3 years and still looks good as when we got it. The logo is even still clear as day. The flap that hangs over the side catches an unbelievable amount, I would not even consider a placemat without one of those. A quick sponge cleaning with some dish soap cleans it up really easily without any staining even from pasta sauces. It’s easy to roll up and take on the go as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone with little ones!

stayed in place great on wood table and granite counter top. Two to 5 year old kids loved em.
