Nice a comfy and good thickness to ease boney bits when at pilates

This mat is comfortable but for an older person quite hard to roll up and secure with the tying string. However, the thickness and comfort outweigh the folding problem.

The Good - A VERY comfortable mat. Definately helps ease things for those with sore knees or hips.The Bad - It can be quite hard to balance on such a thick cushioned mat for certain yoga positionsThe Ugly...well its not ugly , its lovely but it certainly is much bulkier and a little heavier than the average mat. You will struggle to squish it into an average yoga mat carrying bag.Summary - buy this without hesitation if you have sore knees and hips which prevent you from exercising easily on a standard thickness mat. It's worth the extra bulk 1million x over to exercise in comfort protecting your joints.* Update* 2mths laterThis increases difficulty balancing in some yoga and pilates exercises considerably.It scratches easily so beware if you wear a watch / fitbit/ smartwatch as the surface gets markedIt takes up quite a bit of space and it is rathet awkward and inconvenient to walk to and from the gym carrying it. It takes up a seat in my car or a considerable amount of boot space.I would buy a slightly thinner mat next time say 10mm - 15mmIf you already have a thin mat buy a long strip knee pad instead. Don't bother with individual knee pads they are a complete faff and need adjusted for each exercise.

I used the mat for a Pilates class. I have various back issues and so a thin mat was a definite no but this 20 millimetre mat is perfect and comfortable. Would highly recommend.
