I use these to tend a wood fired brick oven that gets close to 1000 degrees.They do get hot after about a minute at that temp and you have to take them off.Update: January 2019 - Still using these gloves they work great and have held up. Just be careful not to get damp. The water will transfer the heat to your hands.

So I purchased the Asscom BBQ Gloves for my husband as a gift. He was grabbing the cast iron out of the oven and the heat penetrated thru the gloves, on the side of the fingers. He now has burns and blisters.
