You stumbled into gold! This book is Gold!
Enthralling and awe inspiring. It tickles the mind by cultivating an entanglement of new thoughts and vision. For me it opened new pathways in my cerebral cortex. I am blessed with this new world introduced by the author. If one is interested to learn something new about fungus ( it reaches out to plants , bacteria , algae, Euphrates , to the psychedelic effects, to the way fungus formed the basis of all terrestrial beings and much more) and I think most of us would have neglected the importance of such a vital thing, this book introduces us to that.Buy this book if not for anything but the sheer pleasure of knowing the world better. You won't regret it as evident from the myriad positive reviews. As the bonus the cover of this book is so beautiful! Thanks Amazon and the seller for the great delivery. Kudos to the author for writing such a brilliant book. Waiting for his future releases.:)Peace.

Fungi are the backbone of life on our planet
A well written book, indded. Worth reading. Yeasts and fungi are ubiquitous but we don't get to read much about them. Study of fungi can solve many a riddle particularly the riddle of appearance of life on the planet.

Never knew so much about Fungi
Wood Wide Web – Never heard of this term till reading this book. This book is an eye opener on the “underworld” of roots of the plants and its relationships with the fungi. It’s a new insight to learn that most of the trees in the forest are connected with an underground fungal network who provide them with the mineral nutrients extracted from the soil or rocks. In exchange, the fungus gets sugars and lipids from the plant which is generated through photosynthesis, by “eating sunlight” . There seems to be underground market where the exchange happens at the best rate, for the mutual benefit. There is also a “futures” market in the form of Orchids who take benefit of the fungus but return the benefit much later in the life cycle. It’s an exhilarating book to know about something we never knew eventhough we deal with plants on a daily basis. A slightly slow read. The author also mentions that fungus decays all the fallen leaves and wood, releasing CO2 back to the atmosphere and that this is more than the CO2 released by burning fossil fuels. Interested to know more facts about this.

Magical. Scientific. Mesmerizing
Mervin Sheldrake's "Entangled Life" is a magical, mesmerizing book. I am, in fact, extremely glad that I read the book. When I had gone to a local bookstore in Delhi - yes, they still exist - I was intrigued by the cover. I confess that I was tempted to buy it on Amazon, which is a bit cheaper, but bought it from the bookstore.Until now, I had looked at fungi as mushrooms (magical, edible, poisonous), growths on bread and clothing, and not much more. When I started to read the book, I found myself entering a world that is, at once, magical, and scientific. It helps that Merlin Sheldrake writes with a rare felicity, which made the experience enjoyable. There are worlds of networks, symbiosis, and intelligence that are different from ours. In short, the book gave me a glimpse into a world that we live in, and don't appreciate. This is a brilliant book. A gem.

Excellent research and entangled read.
Quite a wealth of information in this beautiful book. Loved the illustrations and written language that is easy to understand. The overall information of various aspects of fungi world in the book is eye-opening and shifts the way one would look at the natural world again. However, the reading is quite entangled with a plot broken with scientific abstracts and long unnecessary opinions. Also the attempt to fascinate the readers is very evident till the end of the book which can interfere to follow either the scientific flow of information or the plot.Still, worth the reading for the fascination towards this world of fungi and for the depth of research that reflects the passion for the subject.

A Game Changer for sure.
This is probably the most game-changing book of any book I've read. For me, it laid out the obvious connections of all life on earth and left me with a completely changed attitude about nature's role in any living thing on earth

AMAZING
I love Merlin‘s writing style. And as a high school senior, this book was both very accessible to somebody with minimal knowledge about the subject and very inspiring for somebody who is thinking about what they want to do with their life. Mycology is super cool the writing style really just blew me away. I love how accessible this book makes science feel especially because it’s very engaging and written in such a way that it’s isn’t just interesting facts but also it expresses the cultural impacts and more human sides of the topic really really well. I’m absolutely obsessed.

Hermoso
El unico detalle es que la portada del libro solo es papel, no viene impreso en la cubierta, y es un papel que si no lo cuidas se daña, si se moja no hay forma de recuperarlo y tu libro quedaria sin portada, fuera de eso el contenido es hermoso

A must read
I had been on my readinglist for a long time, but I'm so glad I finally got to it. This give a very good idea on why we should pay more attention to fungi in our lives and the world at large

Fungi and life underground
This is an amazing book that will open your mind to a different world.Although somewhat scientific it is still very accessible to anyone who has an interest in the biodiversity of this planet.I passed it on to my granddaughter who is studying biology at A level and she was delighted.
