Doc Martens can either be the most comfortable footwear you own or the least. And entirely up to you: (also ignore every single “these hurt my feet” reviews, as they didn’t do it right)1. Order a half size to whole size up (whichever is closer to your actual size)2. Wear very thick socks for the first few times you wear them. (Two socks, or the official doc martens socks work just as well)3. Use a balm. Use. A. Balm. I like Wrens old dubbin classic, but lanolin and beeswax balm will work just fine. * this is arguably the most important step, save you months of break-in time and you end up with boots that are are at first so so so soft and comfortable, eventually then, as it dries out over several weeks, they’ll get to that original hardness again - but now in the exact shape of your foot. I honestly can’t tell you I have a preference. The super soft is wonderful but to have rock hard docs that feel like a second skin on your feet is nice too. I end up letting them harden for a while - then re-balming maybe once a year or so.Process:1. use balm as directed (most every balm will darken your leather in exactly the way you’d expect any liquid to darken your leather - so you know don’t be an idiot and get upset that they got slightly darker.)2. wearing super, super thick socks wear them around the house (not outside or for any long distance) for a couple hours. If your feet hurt afterward, wait till they feel normal again and repeat this step - if you don’t use balm expect to stay in this zone for a while.3. As you have days where you wear your boots for x number of hours without hurting your feet - double that time but be careful about getting stuck out in the world or god forbid at work and have a sudden blister. - speaking of which if you get a blister stop wearing your docs until it completely heals then start again by re-blaming your boots.- basically - what you get when you buy a pair of docs is a shoe or boot “blank” it is up to you to shape that blank to your foot. Do it well and I promise you, you’ll swear by this brand.- if you can’t or won’t use balm, just go slow - the heat of your foot along with the movement of walking will eventually work the leather into shape but it will take weeks of short term wearing to do it.

I got these boots for two reasons: the steel toe and the comfort I’ve come to expect in all Dr. Marten boot products. I’ve had the boots for about a week and spend 10 hours a day in them, so far no complaints even in the break-in period. Leather is soft and steel toe is present yet the boots fit, form and function is not impacted in the slightest. The gel soles provide noticeable cushion while standing or walking around. These particular boots have an Electrical Hazard (EH) rating which could be a plus for someone that works with electricity. Bottom line, if you are on your feet all day and need a quality safety boot with a stylish finish these are an excellent option. I usually decide to buy a new pair of Dr. Martens long before my current pair is ready to be retired. From a price point perspective, you get what you pay for and at 139.00 these like all Dr. Marten’s are worth every penny.

Dr. Martens are always the same wonderful quality, a little stiff when first wearing but conforms to the feet soon after. Super cute and great value for the price!

If you know docs, then you know you have to break them in they’re pretty uncomfortable for a while. They are cute. They are functional they get the job done. I wear mine at work (medical field) and I wear some out just as my style. White is my favorite and these are great. Highly recommend them to anybody just know they will hurt until you break them in a little bit of Vaseline on the interior leather and some thick socks and you’ll be walking fine and no time.

This is my first pair of Doc Martin Boots. This is the first pair I could afford, But as long as I can remember I wanted a pair. My feet are a little wide (Why I gave them a four instead of rating) They fit pretty snug because they are mediums. Other than that extremely comfortable. The only negative thing I can say is I wish they came in WIDE.

This is my second pair and these will be alternated with my black boots all fall/winter. Sizing is a bit tricky- I’m a true 9 but Dr Marten doesn’t make a 40 for some strange reason. Ordered a 41 initially and the slop around and feel like clown shoes. So I returned for a 39 which are snug. My solution? Stuck cans in the boot in as far as they would go for a couple of days and it stretched the leather just enough! I’m thrilled with the perfect fit now. I’m 52 but will wear these proudly!

To all the people saying they run small: no. They are leather boots that MUST BE BROKEN IN. Which takes a minimum of two weeks of constant wear.These are beautiful solid white boots. It's a "soft" leather version on the 1420 (more matte than shine and will probably get lines in easier)I'm terrible with white so I may have a friend paint design them.

I have always been a big fan of doc martens so I decided to buy these for a warehouse job.These fit perfectly on my feet and we’re comfortable to wear on the first day.One complaint I have for all new doc martens is that there is no shank. Which is a piece of metal or wood that goes on the arch for supportFor these shoes it is basically non existentBut thanks to the outsole or the bottoms rubber thing (lol) it’s actually very thick and solid compared to other docs which actually makes it almost unoticableI also stand for hours and they are still very comfortable
