Get you a boyfriend like Josh!
I loved this book so much!!Starting off as a summer romance, Cat & Josh are so drawn to each other that they continue seeing each other when they're back home. Josh is such a great book boyfriend and Cat is a badass Latina who is a tough nut to crack, but when Josh manages it, it's so worth it!I loved that we saw aspects of a real relationship, the characters trying to make it work despite their jobs and the distance and that they have fights and niggles like normal couples which romance novels tend to shy away from but I loved it, I found it added the tension and that it wasn't a predictable read which was massively refreshing. The steam level was pretty good, I always want more but this had a good level. It was sweet, funny and swoony and I can't wait to read the rest in the series!

Gorgeous, feel good holiday romance 💜
Title: The CatchAuthor: @laurenhmaeauthorHero/Heroine: Josh and CatiaTrope: Holiday RomanceTHE GOOD 😁In one word: Josh. He was one of those heroes that was so authentic and genuine, willing to put himself out there even if it meant getting hurt. With so many books, we see the hero as the person who seems unwilling to admit their feelings or talk about relationships, however Josh was the complete opposite. In fact it was our heroine Cat who undertook this role. Meeting in a sweaty club in Virginia Beach where they’re both on vacation with their friends, Cat doesn’t expect to feel so much so soon for someone who is a relative stranger. After the breakdown of her previous relationship, Cat is deeply cynical and determined to find out what the catch is with Josh. From this point on I was gripped by the push and pull between these two characters, dying to find out how their relationship would play out.THE BAD 🙁I have to be honest here and say that it took me quite a while to warm to Cat as a character. I felt that her actions in parts were a tad immature and that she needed to respect Josh by giving him the benefit of the doubt. Thankfully she redeems herself, and I found that once she took a step back and acknowledged her actions, she became a lot more likeable.OVERALL THOUGHTS: Gorgeous holiday romance with a swoon worthy hero. Why are blokes in romance novels who are called Josh so damn hot?! 😍STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥STAR RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing
In this book we meet Catia who has become very closed off in her love life after a truly bad experience, what she didn’t expect was to meet Joshua Rideout whilst on vacation. The handsome architect is instantly lovable and Josh seems too good to be true, recently divorced Josh is ready to let love back into his life and he wants Cat. It was a very sweet holiday romance for the two but when Cat finds out how close Josh lives she has to make the decision on wether or not to continue their fling in the real world. As expected there are lots of ups and downs for this couple, it is interesting how they work through their problems and learn to trust again. I absolutely loved these characters, Josh seemed like the perfect guy and I did feel sorry for him at times as he struggled to convince Cat he was the guy for her. Overall a great book, very funny, so well written and a great plot, Mae kept me hooked the whole way through!

I got Caught Up in The Catch
**I received an ARC copy of The Catch in exchange for my honest review.**As one of my first timid steps into the world of modern romance, I gotta say damn I made the right choice. Believing in these two ridiculously adorable but scarred characters is what made me want to fight, laugh and cry.Honestly, sweet romantic themes are not my jam but when I received this ARC with its pastel colors and sketch art, to my surprise I:1) developed an instant crush on the cutest sketch of a character, with all his stubble standing there in his boat shorts looking all adoring and mischievous and sweet all at the same time.2) surprised my own self by being interested in the story once I got past the sketch crush.Catia's big question in the description: "What's the catch"? Is such a relatable theme and it made me hearken back to my single jaded self always questioning motives and searching for character flaws. And believe me, Mr. Josh Rideout of the cutest sketch fame (see above) would have set even the least jaded singleton ever (that's the Emma character in this book btw). One could argue the Josh character was actually too perfect, on the surface. However, once you get the perfect way he flirts and his general all-around sweetness, *minor spoiler* like the scar on his upper lip you realize that's how an actual adult acts when you cut through the crap and knows what he wants and is just waiting for her to Catch up. (see what I did there).Catia does catch up, rather quickly I thought, but then she keeps pulling herself back. I found myself very frustrated with her at times, just wanting her to relax. At the very least, put the specter of her past in her rearview but it would rear its ugly head up at the most inopportune times. Which made me want to go straight through the book and smack her upside the head at times. But then, because this gifted storyteller also gave us Josh's point of view, I realized that I was full-on #teamJosh because I knew what was going on in his head. An option that Cat could only guess at and then I calmed down my ire for her penchant for testing Josh's boundaries. The side characters of Dylan (i've got a mini crush on him too) and Sonya were my favorites but not to be discounted are the sweet Pie in the sky Emma and sassy talking Shawn. It's written in a relaxed pace that gave the characters room to develop and build on relatable level of understanding their motivations to their actions. You start out rooting for Josh immediately but you end up learning to grow with Catia and being proud of her development.Enjoyable read and look forward to more from this author as from reading I think my other fave from this book Dylan has a good story in him. This debut seems like just the beginning for this author and I'm looking forward to seeing what's the catch with Dylan...
