Excellent, excellent replacement strap. I bought it to replace the shoulder strap on my leather messenger bag and aside from its durability and comfort, I was worried that it's tan wouldn't quite match the weathered and rustic texture of my cognac messenger bag. Much to my surprise, it satisfied on all fronts quite nicely. He adjustable shoulder pad is comfortable and sits nicely, and it's a very sturdy/quality build. The color/texture matches my bag so well, you'd honestly never know they were originally separate items. I constantly get compliments on the bag when I am wearing it out and about, which I would attribute to the strap as well since no one ever says "what a nice shoulder strap you have there!".I've only had it for about a month now, so the next test is to see how it holds up against time. I use it everyday as my carrier for my macbookpro to-and-from work, so we'll see how the stitching and pieces of the like hold true with use. For the price, however, if you get a full year or two out of it, you could just assume buying another two or three replacements and still not spend as much as you would on one from say, Fossil, Calvin Klein of Kenneth Cole.Very happy camper.

I ordered this and only received half of the product. It was also packaged in a zip-lock bag and wrapped in packing tape. Fortunately, I could return it, but it was a used product that had been shipped, not a new one.

I have had a "messenger" type bag for decades. I've packed everything from textbooks, to notebook computers, and anything I can throw in and tote. That bag is still kicking after all these years. What did not last? The strap. It was pieces of leather sewn together, well, but not after that long service. So I had to find it a new strap, and this one is what I allowed on my venerable bag. It is very strong, thick leather, probably an 1/8" thick. The hardware (clip rings) are Strong metal whereas my original were of some cast stuff and broke. I don't think these will. The shoulder pad is also sturdy thick leather. The strap is easily as well-built as my original. I have it now a few years, not 30+ like the original, but I'll guess it will last longer than I will!

I needed to replace the shoulder strap on a carrying case for a set of 1954 Sears Binoculars. This strap was wider than the original but was easily adjustable to proper length by merely selecting the most appropriate punched hole in the strap using a belt buckle-like connection. The actual connection to the metal rings on each end of the case is made by two metal spring clips, similar to those used to attach a dog leash to a dog collar D-ring. The strap will accommodate a variety of shoulder strap lengths.

This is exactly what I ordered so I am happy about that but the clips and a belt buckle itself were covered in a Saran Wrap Like tape for protection however it was so melted and sticky that I worked for a good 10 minutes with a baby wipe to get the stickiness off and that didn’t work and I mean sticky sticky anything that touches this will stick to it sticky. I then tried hot water and soap that did not work And then I tried goof off And I’m sure if I would have worked with that more it may have got it all off but by then I had committed to 20 minutes to restore this brand new item. Also it’s not real leather it’s bonded leather at best. That is totally acceptable for the awesome price. Does have a really stinky smell but I’m sure that will air out I have an actually carried a heavy bag with it yet but it seems pretty sturdy. I would’ve actually given us a five star if it wasn’t completely covered in sticky substance I’ve ever seen.

The strap on my messenger bag had broken at the metal hook. I thought I would have to just cary it by the handles from now on. Then I thought I wonder if Amazon has anything I could use. Sure enough, this strap is versatile and comes with the swivel hooks attached! Way to go Amazon!

So much less expensive than getting a whole new bag! My laptop bag strap gave up the ghost and I was lugging it around by the handle, which is annoying with all the walking between buildings I have to do some days. This not only matches the bag, but the width is very comfortable.Having said that, if you are a small person (clearly I'm not), the strap may be a bit big for your shoulder, so that's just something to be aware of.Some have mentioned the buckle being uncomfortable. I haven't found that to be the case, but that's why we all write personal reviews. Anyway, $16.50 is a MUCH better value than the bags I was looking at. I'm not sorry at all.
