Attach it to a heavy peace of metal, bigger from the magnet. Remember that it will be very difficult to release it.

Q: do you need to buy stronger carabinders?

No you don't. The carabineer that comes with it works just fine. I've never had any issues with mine.

Q: Do you leave both rope rings installed or is it better to remove the unused ring so it does not interfere with attraction?

I find it easier to remove the ring you aren’t using. I specifically bought the double sided so no matter which way it lands, there is always a magnet hitting bottom.

I honestly don't even know why this would be a concern. Common sense would say don't do it/chance it..this LITTLE magnet is STRONG!!
