Afraid to say "woman"
I really liked the idea and the premise of the book but in order to make it relevant the author felt that pretty much for each time the word "woman" is mentioned there is a caveat such as "of course not all women have uteruses, and not all people who have uteruses, or who menstruate, are women", while the word "man" appears without the same verbal equilibristics. So once again, a book which was planned to be about women as a sex class used gender in the sense of sex and tried to include everyone.

Odd views
I lost the will at reading "sex assigned at birth.." and "not all women have uteruses". Have no idea how the author can do all that research and then tiptoe around and pander to the trans issue... How Cleghorn can believe that baffles me but maybe it's because she's scared of being cancelled.

Brilliant but will make you angry
Terrific book full of fascinating [horrifying, enraging, downright awful] stories that we'd all do well to acknowledge more. Really goes to show how far behind women's healthcare is and unpacks exactly how it's ended up being that way. One of those books you want to tell everyone about. Really interesting read, I highly recommend it!

Would not recommend
Not engaging, a lot of ranting about politics and not empowering.

The tide is turning!
All woman should read this book. Thought provoking. What women went through in the past to enable us to be where we are now is off the scale! We still have a way to go, which is why books like this are so important!
