RH-3 is not a match for my Shaw's sink
This was not the right color for my Rohl Shaw's farmhouse sink. it was far too bright white. The box said it was RH-3 which seemed to be the one Rohl recommends for my sink. I thought maybe the package was wrong and emailed Porcafix. They sent me a bottle of RH-1 which is a perfect match. Rohl's site says RH-1 is for the Allia sink but whatever, it works for my sink perfectly. This product and their customer service is awesome. The dark knicks, scratches and chips are barely noticeable. I only applied the touch-up once - I didn't sand or reapply since it was a test run but it covered up the marks so well it almost seems unnecessary. So great.

worked well - hard to understand code, etc. - color swatch on package didn't match color in bottle

Good Product, bad instructions
This purchase of Por Ca Fix is the second one for me. The first one, about three years ago, was a learning experience and the second one came out much better. What I learned- 1: The material (in my opinion) , as it comes in the bottle, is too thick- it needs to be thinned down to get a thin coating on the damaged area. The instructions say not to put it on too thick but you can't unless you thin it. (I used Acetone, but the manufacturer says to use mineral spirits, but also says that Acetone is OK-I have a feeling that they are leery of recommending Acetone since it is more hazardous, although it's what nail polish and remover is). 2: OK, if you have to thin it how do you fill a a chip that would take many applications of the thinned material, especially if you wait overnight for each to cure, as I think you should. According to the company you are to buy their other product,Fill a Fix to fill the void almost level with the adjacent surface. This is what I did the first time, a few years ago and it didn't work. First, it was difficult to get the right amount of filler in without overfilling, but after a few tries I eventually did. The repair looked OK for a a year or so but then it just popped loose and it was clear that the filler did not bond well to the sink material. The second time I used a different fill material called Dr Mikes Lightning Bond adhesive and filler which he sells in a kit. I have used his products, basically very high quality "super glue", on my aerospace projects with great results (I have no connection with his company, financial or otherwise). I am very happy with the second repair. I realize that I have rambled on but I thought it was required for your education since the company doesn't give very good instructions. You can contact me at [email protected] with questions or more advice (I am retired now and simply enjoy helping people with home repair projects). My kitchen sink was an expensive Shaws that would be very difficult to take out and replace and this repair, while not a perfect one, made my wife and I am happy with our sink again.Update: EVERY Shaws sink should come with a Rohl stainless steel sink grate (the white vinyl covered one doesn't hold up-get it only if you want to buy a new one every few years!). The Shaws material , while beautiful, chips very easily and the grate will protect it. The sides are still vulnerable and you could probably drop a knife through the grate but with a little care it should survive. Also, since the filled chips are not perfect the grate makes them much less noticeable.Update: Dr Mike (Mike Rice) has past away and his products may be very hard to find but I have found a similar, but better, filler. It is called "Super Fix System" and is made and sold by Bob Smith Industries for about $20. You use it exactly like the Lightning Bond filler and glue. For some reason it isn't on Amazon now (2/10/'23) but is available many other places.

What color should I use on this sink?
I have a Shaw’s Original farm sink and I used RH 3 Porca Fix but it had a grey hue instead of a pure white hue.

someone chipped my perfect sink. i was sick over it
someone chipped my perfect sink. i was sick over it. called professionals who wanted to re-finish the entire farmhouse sink. i knew that would be a mistake. went on line to find shaws original sink. it is now owned by rohl. found this product. searched amazon. bingo.if you take your time and be patient. let each coat dry a day before repeating. i had to fill in a deep ding. it is better than pretty decent. the only thing is that the sand paper is grey and the porcelain is white. the sand paper left a mark, so i stopped using it. they should include a white sandpaper.
