Great exam glove - probably the best.
I have to do self-administered medical procedure 5-6 times per day. Infection is a significant risk, which means some serious hand washing with an anti-bacterial scrub is necessary each time. The skin on my hands became dry, rough, chapped, and painful in spite of using sking lotions.I tried using exam gloves with great success. These gloves are not sterile, so after putting them on, I wash with an anti-bacterial scrub. I now use isopropyl alcohol for the purpose with vigorous scrubbing at no detriment to my skin. There are three choices: latex, vinyl, and nitrile.Latex is the cheapest but also the most problematic for skin reactions, which is why most medical facilities no longer use latex exam gloves. Allergic reactions to latex is a real problem with frequent and prolonged exposure.Vinyl is the most widely used in hospitals and other medical facilities. Vinyl is slightly more expensive than latex, but a good glove that avoids the problems associated with latex.Nitrile is the one I have been using for three years, now. I buy by the case of 10 boxes which is just a tad over 7 cents per glove, 14 cents per pair.Nitrile gloves are stronger than vinyl. Hospitals use them instead of vinyl in situations which require greater safety precautions. They do not use them everywhere because of slightly higher cost, which makes a difference when they are using thousands a day. I go through 6-7 pairs a day, so the slightly higher cost is not a problem for me.Because of the greater strength of nitrile, I don't have to worry about tearing them putting them on (can happen with vinyl and latex if you are not careful). My wife and I occasionally also use them for house hold cleaning tasks. Their greater strength means they can be used for hard scrubbing and other tasks.Nitrile is also more resistent to chemicals than either of the other two.A great exam glove at a good price. Highly recommend without reservations.

perfect for household use
These blue nitrile gloves are great for household chores such as cleaning, painting (or stripping paint), potting plants and cat litter emptying. We decided to try them because we were tired of the supermarket "rubber gloves" that fit badly and seemed to rip out every two minutes. Although the nitrile gloves are intended for one-time medical use, they are durable enough to be washed and reused many times for household applications. (One pair that we use just for cleaning the stove has held up for months.) On the other hand, they are inexpensive enough that we don't mind throwing them out after one or two uses. The first box of 100 gloves lasted us for three years and this is a repeat purchase.Fit: The gloves are a unisex size. As we both have long, slender hands, we chose the Large so that we could share the same box of gloves. This size fits my husband perfectly, but the gloves are a little loose on me. Given that I am not using these for precision work, it has not been a problem.Note: These gloves are NOT intended to be resistant to abrasion or sharp edges and will not hold up for heavy work such as construction, pruning branches, etc. I have used them under regular gardening gloves when I felt that my hands needed additional protection from moisture or germs. The gloves also might not be impervious to all types of chemicals - if you're going to be using anything other than standard household cleaners and solvents, be sure to find out if you need specialized gloves. The only negative comment I have about these gloves is that they don't "breathe" and your hands can get very sweaty if you have the gloves on for long periods of time and/or if you're working outside in hot weather.
