Cornucopia of Fruit & Vegetables, A: Illustrations from an eighteenth-century botanical treasury

I was disappoint with its contents. The cover is nice but the pictures inside are dull looking. His fruits and vegetables are lighter and clearer on the website. I wanted to return it but haven't.

I read rave reviews of this in various magazines and was very disappionted. It's only A5 size, there "history" is not much to write home about and the pictures really don't do justice to the (obviously magnificent) originals. I wish I'd saved my money and perhaps bought an original page from one of the books that have been, unfortunately, torn up over the years, as this was supposed to be a gift for my plant-loving semi-professional gardening cousin. I wouldn't have the nerve to present it to her, frankly!
