Need a new editor
I took a chance with the book, even though some of the reviews were less than promising. Whomever bound this book HAS NO IDEA what they are doing. The pattern section is a complete wreck. You have to pay close attention to which pattern template belongs to which because they are NOT in the right order... like at all. It’s like the papers fell out onto the floor and no one bothered to fix it before binding. A mess... like everyone says, there is no unicorn and no CD but the six patterns the CD promises are there... just in no order... the book has promise... but should it cost this much and have such poor quality? I like the information, and the author knows what they are doing, but with the misspellings, lack of order to the pattern section the editor failed, because I don’t think they even read it

NOT for beginners - no unicorn pattern in book
NOT for beginnersWhile the book is beautiful, and gives plenty of ideas, it does not give step by step directions. This is crucial for those of us that are just getting into this craft. I purchased this book thinking that because it has a unicorn on the cover, that the pattern would be in the book. IT'S NOT. Ugh! The body for the unicorn looks like the Gryphon pattern inside, but there is no head pattern for the unicorn. Very misleading.

This Book Needs an Editor
This book has instructions on how to sew animals, and how to alter patterns. About half of the book consists of patterns for stuffed animals that you can make for personal use, but not for sale unless you get special permission. Practically every page of this book has a typographical error--a simple run of spell check on the original manuscript would have eliminated most of them. On page 71 of my version, a reference is made to a enclosed CD, but no CD was included with my new book. Links are provided for suppliers, including for "Joanne Fabrics". I can assure you, there is no "e" in joannfabrics.com. Is the book worth buying? Yes, if you have never dared to change something on a pattern, or if you want a few basic tips to expand your repertoire of sewing techniques (she thoughtfully explains how to needle-felt eyes onto a stuffed toy, with genuinely helpful hints, for example). If you're an old pro at sewing, there might be something to glean from these pages--but you'd be better off checking it out of the library.
