Practice: 250 Step by Step Practice Methods for the Violin by Simon Fischer

I like the layout of the book, the ability to use it for myself or my students, I like the approach to problems - practicing with a plan in mind. I had taken it out of a university library several times, prior to deciding that I seriously needed it in my own music library. This is NOT a method book. Do not expect it to be one. I also own the author's book BASIC.

The book was arrived damaged - the box was not damaged: not just the back cover, but the last 25 pages or so along with 'dented' edge. How dare to ship an item like this by Evergreen Violin ... I didn't pay a used book price for this. By flipping pages, I also noticed that the binding condition was poor: some pages looked and sounded like they were ready to come off, granted that it is a very thick book and a dry weather. I have nothing against the author: I have his "other" two books, which I am fond of. For an expensive - and comprehensive - book like this, I want the condition to be close to perfect. Very disappointed.

Great book, but the delivery service banged it up a bit so kindof not new looking. Still, a fantastic book for any aspiring artist of the violin.

Read this book. I've read almost every single book written on violin technique and it is by far the most comprehensive and helpful. The price is nothing compared to the priceless insights this book has. Buy his other book-basics-as well.
