Great Fenders - no more spraying - hello puddles
I have a comfort style bike and have been wanting to set it up as a more commuter type bike. Without fenders even with after a rain the tires would spray water from puddles. I decided to get fenders for the bike and based upon the reviews and the pricing decided to get these fenders. My concern in getting them was that I would be putting them on a bike that had tires larger than were recommended. The tires on the bike are 700x38c. the specs list the largest size as 35. I decided to try them so I put them on and have ridden with them on and have not noticed any problems with them. There appears to be sufficient clearance so I am not worried about using them. They took about 45 minutes to install. Front tire went very quickly and rear tire slower since I needed to remove the rear tire. Adjustments were easy and they look great. So it looks like I will be able to keep from being sprayed. Look forward to going through my first puddle.

I had good experience with them.
I have a Schwinn Circuit hybrid that I turned into a makeshift gravel bike last year. The fine grit from the local trails is really wearing on my drivetrain so I thought I'd try a set of fenders. Because I have to haul them around, I wanted some that were lightweight and not obtrusive, appearance wise.I chose these based on their size and published weight. These are advertised as being 700c x 45mm. I misunderstood that when I bought them, to mean they would fit atop 700cx45mm tires. That's not the case. Planet Bike recommends tires 35mm or smaller.I didn't have any trouble with installation. All of the mounting points were there on my Schwinn. The only exception to this being the seat-stay mount. The one that comes with the kit is designed for a bike with rim brakes. My bike has a mount in stay instead. I drilled a small hole through the fender and bolted it to that.Like others, I used my own hardware. The hardware that comes with the kit is just fine quality wise and it would have served the needs perfectly. But I wanted hardware that uses Allen head bolts so that's why I used mine. The only difficulty with installation, and this is minor, is that I had to shape one of the struts for the rear fender to clear the brake caliper. I suspect these fenders are designed for a rim-brake bike. There is enough clearance in the rear for my 35mm Cross Boss tires. The front is a little tight as the fork I'm using doesn't have a lot of clearance near the crown. I do get some rocks making noise as they roll around on the inside of the fender and I'd like more clearance in the front. I may have to modify the fender a bit to give some more clearance at the fork.Looks wise, I think they are okay. I like the look of the bike better without them, but if I'm going to run fenders, these aren't bad style wise.I would recommend them. Be prepared to use a bit of ingenuity when you set out to install them. And remember, there isn't any sort of design standard for bicycles when it comes to fender mounts. Each bike manufacturer does it differently. It's not fault of Planet Bike if these do not fit your bike perfectly.I've included a lot of photos so you can see how they mounted to my bike and get an idea of what to look for on yours before ordering to make sure the fit.

Bracing flaws and cheap screws.
The one thing I think is important to note about these is that the dual metal braces on the back fender are separate single metal spokes with a loop at the end. This means that you need to buy a longer bolt to connect them, if you also have a pannier or other carrier on the back. On my previous set of fenders for my commuting bike, the dual bracing was a single strand of metal that looped around the fastening bolt, taking only half as much bolt length to connect. Also, the fasteners that come with this set are rather cheap things that you connect with a screwdriver instead of an Allen wrench, and they do not look like stainless, but rather cheap metal possibly with a galvanized coating. I used the ones from my old set that are stainless Allen bolts. Also some of the end connectors are bulky plastic instead of metal. Other than that they seem OK, but I just installed them yesterday, so i will wait and see.

Great fit and great value despite the fact that the hardware is crap
Packaging was fine--item arrived intact. I did not have to modify anything for a good fit on my bike. The screws included were pretty crappy and one snapped on me, but I've been using these on my bike since September and they make wet-weather riding so much better. Easy to adjust, lightweight but sturdy. I'm happy with them so far.
