Chris's top charting album is this, his tenth, a passion project with a cohesive structure and focus on the search for redemption. Tapping into his Irish ancestry, he sings about the emerald isle and it's people in this fascinating album. This product is an authorized manufactured on demand CD-R

Fully satisfied !
Exact recording of the cassette I enjoyed years back - in a much better quality! Only flaw is, it does not play in old generation CD players.I am fully satisfied in this purchase.

Not Original, Poor Audio Quality
Bought Road To Hell. The delivery process was good but that is besides the point. The CD quality was poor. It had tags of being imported from Germany, Warner Brothers etc. However the CD appeared to be a copy, including the cover. The paper cover appeared to be xeroxed and most importantly the CD audio pitched up and down as if if copied from an old vinyl record with poor quality.I ordered this from Amazon as I was unable to source an original in Delhi. But to no avail. Probably the importer also does not know what is he importing or does not care.

Tears and Abuse
In someways this review is a bit bias because for me the song that had such a profound effect on me when it was released in 1989 eclipses the whole of the album. It was 'Tell me there's a Heaven'. Having experienced and also been told such horrifying stories of abuse after becoming involved in a children's charity which was set up to aid child abuse victims, this song now three decades and more it can still bring me to tears, even more so when the horrendous case of Baby 'P' Chris Rea re-issued this song to raise money for child victims of abuse in 2009.The irony that the other hit 'Road to Hell' is actually a song concerning the road A63 which is the road to Hull and I was then riding that road on a regular basis as I had met my future husband who was from Hull.

The Road to Pleasure
His Classic, The Road To Hell album his best. Includes The road to Hell part 1 & 11. Released in 1989 and topped the UK charts. Chris in an underrated guitar player and should be rated as high as Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler. A must for all record collections

Road music not from Hell
Got this on tape when 1st came out so about time for CD. sounds fantastic. This is Chris Rea at his best! quality is just so! you wont be disappointed you'll just wear it out from continual playing at home or in the car. its just right for cruisin or a long drive in the dark of night up that superslab. (CB talk for the M1) M6 as well if your going far enough or wherever. you dont have to be a heavy rock merchant to love this, it'll just grow on you like it did to our son age 18 now 25, He'd play it in his tower crane way above London if he could but he wouldnt hear the firms 2 way radio! He listens to it via his phone to & from work in london traffic on his 1000cc Kwaka mans bike.

Great Pressing Fantastic Sound
Wow, what an album, I have had this as a live recording from a BBC in concert, which I recorded onto high quality cassette, but never got around to buying the album. Really impressed with the song writing and production, it just sounds wonderful. The vinyl is very quite 180gr pressing, extremely well recorded. Just go and get it.
