Cats being butts? Save your broken USB plugs.
I bought this to repair a set of gaming headphones my cat thought it was funny to pull off my desk and across my room, breaking off the USB connector and leaving it in the port on my computer case. It was very simple to solder the wires in place and the cover was convenient and easy to install. As a safety measure because I have pets, I melted the edges left behind on the cover with the soldering iron. Good as new. There's also female USB connectors, which are also handy, and they are separated in the compartments in the case it comes in along with the covers for each. They did their magic, and I'm prepared next time the cat pulls things plugged into my computer off my desk again. Would recommend to anyone with soldering experience.

Ok, but be prepared for the outer case to fall off... keep some cyanoacrylate handy.
Relatively easy to assemble once you have decent pinout instructions. I used 18ga speaker wire to make power cord conversions for some Christmas decorations that came battery powered. Since most of the decorations came with a power switch, pretty easy-peasy. Make sure you use low power soldering tools as the plastic substrate deforms easily & a drop of super glue to keep the outer case on.

Nice kit, was able to make nice-looking cables in no time at all
Harder to solder than disassembled connectors, but still a nice product. Will definitely buy again

Nice product; bad packaging
First, getting into the case was a chore because the case had been taped shut, probably because the latch was less than stellar. Making it worse, the tape was flimsy and kept tearing while removing it.Second, despite being taped shut, one of the dividers in the case had come loose in transit, meaning I had to waste time separating some of the housing parts that had become intermingled. Finally, the holes in the strain relief portion of the housings are way to small for any USB 2.0 cables I have ever seen. To be able to get a cable to fit, I will need to first put the housing together without a connector, taping it to make sure it stays together, drill out the hole, pry the housing apart, then reassemble it with the connector and cable.

Good quality parts
I've already used several of these. They were easy to assemble, and I used Gorilla brand cyanoacrylate glue to stick them together.

Good construction
The surrounding plastic held up well to the heat from my soldering iron.

Solid connectors
Seem like good connectors, little challanging to solder onto them in same cases and I have to use superglue to keep the casing closed but I'm probably using wire that is to high of gage for what this is design for. I'm using this to make custom USB charge cables.

Very Useful
Just what I needed. One of my important thumb drives got run over by a car and it was crushed. This kit and a soldering iron was all it took to repair it enough to recover all my data.

Ok if you have good soldering skills
You get a lot for your money. Small gripe though. The plastic cases only push together and come apart easy. If you need a permanent fit then I would suggest using superglue.Still recommend tho.
