Flexible and easy to work with
I have not had a chance to test this out yet in terms of keeping heat out, but it arrived in good shape. It is a bit thinner than I expected, but has the advantage of being very easy to cut with scissors and to bend, while being stiff enough to stay straight and stand upright if that is what you want. It is also super lightweight.I live in the SF bay area in California and sun on my planters on my paved patio can be brutal in the summer, baking the roots of plants. I found that the plants in my fiberglass planters that face south dried out super fast, and I think it is just the heat of the sun hitting them. So I am going to try lining the inside of the planters with this, to reflect the heat back out, and then fill them with potting soil. Between the reflective foil and the thin layer of foam, that should help. But I won't know until this summer. However, I am happy with this product--I think it will be very easy to work with and easy to line the planters with.I also think it could be a great product for reflecting heat that comes through a wall, where you have limited space to insulate. We are thinking of using it behind our medicine cabinet which is recessed into an exterior 2x4 stud wall that gets morning sun and gets very warm in summer. If we were putting in a new medicine cabinet, we would definitely try using a product like this, or maybe the foil-bubble-foil type, to provide some protection from heat.

Works better than expected
I bought this to wrap an inexpensive greenhouse that lives on our patio. We tried everything we could but it didn’t stay warm enough. As soon as I wrapped it in this the temperature went up ten degrees. We’re now able to maintain 65 degrees even in 34 degree weather. We have a very small low wattage space heater in there to help maintain the heat and it’s hooked up to a thermostat. We also have a grow light. The wrap is open in the middle of the front so I can get into the greenhouse and overlaps the openings of the actual greenhouse cover. I wanted to let oxygen flow some while allowing little heat to escape. Our system is hydroponic and the water has a weak heater that couldn’t keep up in cold temps. Very excited to grow happy fresh vegatables in the winter.

Reflective Barrier - great product
I purchased this product to cover an aluminum firewall. It has a nice appearance and is easy to work with. After seeing the prices of what is being sold in the automotive market such as sound deadening products I knew their were alternatives to being gouged by the brand name sellers. This should do fine & I have a 2 foot by 50 foot roll of material that I can use for other projects.I did a quick test to see how well it held up to heat by blasting it with my Porter Cable heat gun. With it on the highest settings , holding it a couple of inches away from an edge I was glad to see it didn't burst into flames nor did it shrivel up into a ball or even shrink . It retained it's shape although it did flatten out - loosing it's "puffiness" so rather than having two thicknesses of material with an air space in-between , it's more like a thicker flatter piece. LOL!It is about the same as the edges that you would staple through to attach it to 2 x 4 wall studs etc.I will use a spray adhesive to attach it to the firewall .It's a good product. It arrived within a couple of days , being a Prime customer I had to overlook the shipping and viewed it as just the price of the product. So for about fifty bucks I ended up with 3 or 4 times the amount of material I would have had .If you want to spend a lot of money you could check Eastwood , Sound Buddy's and others.I'd buy this product again , but I still have a lot more to use . I will probably start with the garage door , next up the shed . . . . . then the . . . . .Buy it , you will be glad you did.Don

Worked well on garage door but not enough
Measured my 2-door garage door and ordered based on those measurements but only had enough to do about 85% - 90% of the door. That being said, I still like the product: it cuts easily, is easy to handle and seems to be the right thickness to help keep the garage cooler in the summer. Would suggest ordering more than you think you need if using for a garage door.

Awesome insulation for cabinetry in RV!
I install this in all my motorhome cabinets was amazed how well it worked. Kept the heat from the hot sun from my cabinets and saved my food from becoming stale. Saved on AC too! Worth every penny. I just cut a few inches wider than the cabinet back, placed in til it fit snugly with no tape or adhesive and VOILA.... instant progress!!

Works great!
I was surprised how well this stuff works! I installed it in cat house with an oil filled space heater and temperature controlled outlet. The temperature stays between 59 and 61 degrees at all times.

Wasn't quite as easy to wrap...
...my ducts as I had hoped. Once I was done it seems to be performing OK, but again not as well as I had hoped. Maybe my expectations were too great so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and giving a better rating than it might deserve.

Wow, what a difference!
The A/C in our RV can't keep up with the afternoon heat in the summer when there is no shade. We tried this product and were pleased with how easy it is to cut and put up in the windows - and how well they keep the heat out. Our A/C actually shut off in the midst of the hot afternoon.
