Mini Knitted Ocean: Woolly whales, dolphins and other nautical knits Paperback – Illustrated, October 24, 2016

Book was sent to a woman's prison that can knit and crochet. The books I send get passed around to the women (there is a crochet club) and a lot of the items they make are for charity, battered women, unwed mothers, newborns, and other such like organizations.

I love her patterns, her books are easy to follow and the patterns make the cutest toys. I highly recommend. By increasing the needle size and yarn gauge you can make larger versions of the toys, such fun.

looking through the book, a knowledge of knitting will be required, but totally do-able

My grandson wanted my first fish be the Angler Fish. It confused me at first with stitching up, but a quick backtrack and wha-la I got it. I used bigger needles and 4 ply yarn so mine was a good size

Great fun for Stuffed creatures of the sea.

I have several other books by this author and this one looks just as good. Great directions and photos.

What I needed. Cute ideas.

This book is amazing. The patterns are written in great detail and the images are fantastic.

The knitting patterns for the creatures are good but the finished items are not suitable for a child to play with. The boat has a skewer and chopstick in it. A child could do themselves some serious damage with them the puffer fish spikes pull out and are not secure. I made some amendments and the finish mobile looked great.

Delightful book with a wide variety of fish. My grandchildren like to reenact films they watch and this is ideal for Finding Nero and Dory. I love the knitting but I wish the book provided a sewing genie as I do not like sewing up fiddly pieces. This is NOT a criticism of the book just a personal view on sewing up. Lovely project to do with grandchildren.

Bought as a gift for my mother in law as she wanted things to do in the lockdown. The patterns use 4 needles which can be tricky for those with arthritis in the hands. However, she's great at knitting so had managed with using just 2 needles.

I absolutely love Sachiyo Ishii’s knitting toy books! This one is no exception. I have quite a collection of her books now. This ocean book has many really cute knits that finish up beautifully. The only thing is there is no seahorses which is a little disappointing, but this book is still definitely a must for a fan of Sachiyo’s books!
