I recently smoked ribs on my Weber gas grill using my new Dyna-Glo smoker box. I read many reviews on other smoke boxes including Weber's but settled on Dyna-Glo's and glad I did. Using Bear Mountain wood pellets Gourmet Blend for my smoke. The pellets started smoking within 10 to 15 minutes with the box positioned over one burner below the grate, the other burners were off and the lit burner on high. The wonderful smoke aroma filled the grill and the ribs went on with the burner turned down to low. I maintained a low temperature hovering around 225 for 4 hours and my delicious smoked ribs were ready to eat. I wanted to test using a smoke box on my gas grill before spending money on an electric smoker. The smoke box was all I needed to convert my gas grill into a wonderful smoker spending only on the smoker box and wood pellets. I believe they recommend wood chips but I found the wood pellets easy to burn and they lasted through the 4 hour cook. No need for an electric smoker to use occasionally and then find a place to store it out of the weather. My gas grill was already there under a covered deck where it sets year round.
