The room I sleep in does not get any direct sunlight in the morning. The only real reliable way I could get up was a typical alarm clock. But even then, I felt groggy and unprepared for the day.Enter the Sunrise alarm clock. Oh boy, this thing has completely changed my mornings. I set the time I want to wake, set how long I want the "sun" to take to "rise", say 30 minutes, then go to sleep.30 minutes before my alarm time, the "sun" starts to rise. The light is dim, very orange at first, then gradually gets brighter and whiter until it reaches full intensity at the time I set for the alarm. I also have it play some bird and nature sounds to round things out. It's a much nicer way to wake up than a typical alarm. I often find myself gently awaked about 10-15 before full brightness; I then lie in bed and start thinking about my plans for the day until the light hits full brightness. I wake up gently, refreshed. It's a wonderful experience.The light itself is actually quite bright. Even at dimmer settings, it's bright enough to read a book by, or write a journal. The dimmer settings also have a warmer hue, so you can use It for night lighting without having to worry about the sleep-robbing effects of blue light. The light is also very consistent and soft.There are two alarms you can set, which let you, say, have one alarm for weekdays and another for weekends without having to be constantly changing the alarm time. Time at which the "sun" "rises" can be set, too, in terms of minutes before full brightness. It also can play a number of different sounds, including nature, which is the one I prefer. The volume is adjustable. The clock's display can be dimmed so as not to be a bother at night. There is also a battery backup which keeps the time and your alarms in the event of a power outage, or if you unplug it for whatever reason. Note that the clock and light do not function on battery power -- it is solely for remembering the time.All in all, I HIGHLY recommend getting this if you want to experience a different, gentle sort of morning experience, and especially if your bedroom doesn't get a lot of morning sun. It has literally completely changed my mornings.

I got this alarm clock because a friend recommended it, and I'm so glad I did. I am NOT a morning person, and I've had a lifelong hatred of being jarred awake by beeping alarm clocks and annoying ringtones.In contrast, this alarm clock wakes me up gently. I love that I can set the light to come on gradually (mimicing the rising sun) before the sound goes off. And I also like that I can use gentle nature noises (the water one is currently my favorite).Overall, a great alarm clock for the price! I found it fairly easy to use once I got used to what all the buttons are for, and I love that I can turn the digital light of the time to dim or completely off, so it doesn't keep me up at night.I highly recommend this alarm clock for anyone who wants to waking up to feel more natural and peaceful!

I absolutely love this alarm clock, and it was worth every penny. The sunrise simulator is amazing, as it gradually gets brighter instead of just switch from one light mode to the next. The only other alarm clocks that I found that did that were upwards of $100, so it’s definitely a steal. I also love the lamp setting, and it makes a great soft light for when I’m winding down at night. I also especially like the fact that they send you stickers to label the buttons so that you can identify which button is which. The instructions are really helpful, and there’s so many amazing settings. Would definitely buy again

I've had the clock exactly a year and it is running about 12 minutes fast right now. How hard is it to make and electronic clock that actually keeps time? I mean really, you had ONE job.With so many small buttons around the outside of the device, it's a little tricky to set up. Very difficult to identify a button by touch in the dark if you are trying to turn off/reset the alarm. Wish the snooze button on top was larger.Other than that, the nicest feature is being able to set the alarm sound to chirping birds.

I love the idea behind this clock! It slowly gets brighter like the sunrise for an hour leading up to your alarm. Amazing for places like Seattle where the sunrise is super late in the morning ing at certain parts of the year.

I was debating about which one to buy... and my friend sent me this one that he also bought. I really like this!! It works so well for me and the way I wake up now is so peaceful. For the $55.00 I paid, this is great. It took me realistically 20 minutes to sit down with the instructions and a little bit of fiddling, but isnt to hard to understand.

Used it about 3 times now and really like. Is a lovely way to go to sleep with lovely colours and the sound of waves. Also very calming to wake up gently with the light gradually getting brighter til my alarm goes off. Only thing that would make it better is if it had bluetooth capability so i could hook up my meditation apps to it. For this though, it is good value for money

I appreciated the providence of stickers to label the different functions. The brightness levels seem suitable for me. One drawback and issue I would like resolve is about the CR2032 battery. The one provided, and the one I bought, don't seem to power on the clock.
