This is a clever design and pretty well executed kit. Be sure to get the version that has the motor driver board, it provides a USB power connection and additional cable to the amplifier board. This will electrically rotate the turntable as well as power the amp from one USB source.The speed governor ran fast on mine so I replaced the silicon sleeve on the governor's output shaft with a couple layers of heat shrink; the speed adjustment worked well then. I also added a power switch to the USB power input to make record changing easier.My 3 YO grandson enjoys the old 78's and some 45's with children's rhymes. Changing the platen wheel diameter for different record speeds is a chore but my grandson likes to turn the screws and change the records. Great fun.

44 1/2hrs. Into it, and still am not done. Steele shaft too short, so all the gears will not turn. I have tried several different ways and now it won't even finish going together because where the pegs go, to hold it together, broke off! Can't get ahold of company to get correct parts. You can only try to put together once, then the product breaks!

Kept my son happily busy on a rainy day. You have to fiddle with it to get the sound quality recognizable. My son is 40. This is not a project for a young child without a LOT of help from a parent.
