Navajo Wedge Weave Tapestry is unique in that the edges are not straight. As you weave each new color into the tapestry, you pull on the edge, ending up with scalloped edges. This one I titled Rising Sun. I wanted to create some rounded edges throughout so it appeared that the sun was rising in the morning. It's an amazingly creative processes. As I'm making them, I sometimes need to set them aside because I don't have a clear vision of what color to add in next. Sometimes they sit for a week and sometimes they sit for a month as I walk by them daily waiting for them to tell me which color should be next. This one is mounted on stretched canvas, which measures 13" wide by 20" long. It is 1 1/2" deep. The actual woven piece measures 12" wide by 13" long. The canvas is wired on the back for easy hanging.
