The media could not be loaded. So this unit is 20yrs old and have been through more halogen bulbs than 1 can keep track of for the amount of use and abuse it goes through on a daily. I came across the LED upgrades and thought it maybe worth looking into, but rememberthatLEDs are polarity sensitive (means they only like the flow of current in 1 direction) so if they don't turn on just like the video then remove them and rotate 180° and reinstall. So I have 4 units that I have these for and giving this one a shot and will swap out after I see they work good on this test dummy. They're 20W which is JUST as bright (if not more) than the standard 100W halogens and while LEDs aren't great in the winter we'll see if that is true to this purchased bulbs. Will come back in 6 months and give an update.

All the bulbs fit perfectly and we’re not broken. However, they are so dim that it doesn’t even like the floor of my kitchen. My flashlight is brighter with two AA batteries in it. I wish there was an LED replacement bulb for the 200 W halogen that gives even 1/4 the amount of light as the halogen.

Finally got this LED replacement for a 500w halogen work light that was only to be used outdoors due to the heat it dispersed. Might have used it one time during the many years I own it. Didn't really want four bulbs, but wasn't sure the larger center section of other LED bulbs like this would fit. This fit perfectly and brightness is great, and no more heat. Not as bright as original halogen, but at least its usable now for whatever I need it for, even indoors. Only tested one of the four bulbs, so can only hope the other three are fine, but hopefully will never need a replacement for this work light again.

A little dimmer than the original halogen. It’s a cooler white, which I like. Sometimes these bulbs flicker when they are turned on, which is really annoying.

Just what I was looking for

I bought four 20W (200W equivalent bulbs) as replacements for the 300W halogen bulbs in some shop lights I had. I was excited to try the LEDs even though I didn't expect them to be as bright as the halogen bulbs they were replacing, mostly because the LEDs wouldn't give off the absurd amount of heat that the halogens do.The LED replacements wouldn't fit into one of my exciting fixtures because the size of the bulb was too thick and extended too close to the electrodes. They did fit in my second fixture without any modifications, but once installed and turned on they gave off a very small amount of light, many, many orders of magnitude dimmer than the halogens. In fact a cheap flash light using a conventional bulb powered by two C batteries gave off much more light than two of these LEDs.So while these bulbs solved the heat problem, they were worthless as light sources. I'm returning them and based on the results, won't be trying any other LED halogen replacements.

Pleasantly surprised at the brightness. Nice replacement for my work light.
