The Number of Reviews Say It All! A Series Worth Reading. An Author Worth Following!
I loved everything about this book and this series! Intriguing main characters whose lives, loves and choices create a foundation that withstands any level of crisis and everyday uncertainties that comes with real life. The journey of Mike/Rosie and family is one I will continue follow. The entire cast of characters have their own interest and appeal. Each one adds something special. The cases are never ordinary. The twists and turns make for a solid ride with people I really like. Already anticipating the next chapter in their lives!Thank you, Mr. Siegel. Your case has merit. Please continue!

Realistic.
Deals with life realistically. No one wants anyone in their family to be a sociopath, a relationship monster, or have any kind of a near fatal, or absolute fatal disease. It happens. In this story the lives and crimes intertwine so realistically I really feel like this is a bio. Well done.

Sheldon Siegel has penned yet another great Mike Daley/Rosie Fernandez Novel
...you cannot pick your family...Mike Daley and Rosie Fernandez are law partners — and ex-spouses. They have been working together as defence partners in their firm, but back in the day they had been an unbeatable team in the San Francisco Public Defender’s office. They had a "whirlwind romance", got married and three years later, got divorced. They have a lovely daughter, Grace...Soon after they divorced Rosie quit the PD's office (after working there for nine years) and opened her own firm. Mike went to Simpson and Gates. When he got fired for not bringing in enough high-paying clients, Rosie took him in. They have been law partners for three years...Rosie's niece Angelina has been accused of murdering her husband, famous movie director Richard "Big Dick" MacArthur — and her brother Tony "may be on the wrong end of a strong-arm graft proposal." Mike is having a secret affair and Rosie has a dark secret of her own. As if that were not enough, the son of one of the firm's lawyers has been busted on a drug charge...Angelina "Angel" Chavez is MacArthur's third wife and he is old enough to be her father. She is starring in his new film — The Return of the Master is her big break...Sheldon Siegel has penned yet another great Mike Daley/Rosie Fernandez Novel! I really enjoy these stories — they are true legal thrillers. Everything is covered — the crime(s), investigation(s), arrest(s), trial(s) and outcome(s).The story was interesting enough to grab your attention and keep you holding on until you reach the very end. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you entertained throughout. The plot is well thought out and the characters leap from the pages. You will not want to stop until you reach the final page — then you are ready for the next book in the series!Well done, Mr. Siegel — you have gained another loyal fan!

Impossible to put down
I have this book 5 stars because I have read a couple of books now and I love the characters in the book, they are not perfect. I n fact it’s about 2 people that are going through life’s ups and downs but not over the top. The kinda of life anyone reading about it can totally relate. I think anyone who loves a good “who dunnit “ will enjoy this series. I never have a clue how they will end, I love that!!

Suspenseful, no unnecessary verbage
I am an avid criminal/legal novel reader, very 'picky' about those I choose to read that are in a 'series'. This is one of my top choices. I started with Sheldon Siegel's first novel and am making my way in chronological order through the rest (his Mike Daley/Rose Fernandez Legal Thrillers Series). I find them totally engaging from the get-go; no unnecessary verbage; love the interaction between them; love his PI brother; fascinating the amount of time the characters put into their jobs without sleep; I love the descriptions/history of the eateries/buildings/sites in S.F.-I'd never know about them otherwise; I love the specifics Siegel interjects about the legal system without overwhelming you; I REALLY like how Siegel will precede Daley's responses to people with his own thoughts-i.e. in his brain he's responding with a "What?" or "Really?" or "I bet" but it's not actually said. THEN Daley responds. It gets the reader into Daley's mind even before he verbalizes anything. It's one of the main things I like about Siegel's writing pattern. Each novel could be read on its own, i.e. without having read prior novels but I chose to read in their order....I'm no on series #4 and am thrilled I've quite a ways to go!

Michael and Rosie just keep rolling along!
Sheldon Siegel is a joy to read. Criminal Intent is another winner! What a great story and told by a pro. Siegel has a wonderful sense of humor and knows when to use it; perhaps not as much in Book 3 as in Books 1 and 2 but it is there and brings a chuckle when it is. Book 3 in this series is another page turner. There are twists and turns and then more twists and turns but the story rolls along and never loses the gentle reader. Now I’m on to Book 4 Final Verdict.

Mystery the way I like it.
I am particular about the mysteries I read: there has to be a murder, of course, or it wouldn't be a mystery, but I don't want to be there when it happens, and I don't want any torture. I don't want to know who's guilty until the protagonist figures it out. I like Daley's asides embedded in the dialogue.

Boring and far-fetched!
I have quite enjoyed earlier books in this series, but not this one. With only half-a-dozen possible suspects, this book simply consists of endless and repetitive debates about who the killer might be. And then there is also endless debate about Mike Daley's love life. And some bizarre sub-plots. And a ridiculous conclusion.

Mr. Siegel is a master of his craft....congratulations, sir ....and thank you !
Brilliantly well-paced and a true page-turner. Mr. Siegel is a master story-teller whose characters jump out of the pages; so utterly believable and suspenseful.I first "found" Mr. Siegel about 6 months ago and I am making my way through all of his novels in order. I find them to be intelligent and amongst the best I have read....and believe me, I have read thousands of books in my time !The final chapter of this novel had me shed a tear or two for Mike and Rosie. It is so well written !! If you ever get to read this review Mr. Siegel I plead with you to keep the story of Mike and Rosie and Grace continuing from one novel to the next ad infinitum....please!

Given up.
This third book in the series is so disappointing. The constant boring nonsense about mike's love life was just too much for me. Such a pity as the first two books were quite enjoyable but it seemed as if this was an attempt to get the last bit of blood out of a stone.

Superbly written legal thriller
I am so happy to have found Mr. Siegel, as I am working my way through his books in order. They are intelligent, interesting, fast moving, and his characters are people you feel you know.Excellent.

OK but...
This series is OK plot-wise. But the characterisation is cliched. Everyone is handsome or pretty, everyone is politically correct, all the lovey-dovey and "children/baby" stuff is Mills and Boon and enough to turn your stomach at times. The series is a weird mix of detective and chick-lit that can't seem to make up its mind what it wants to be. I didn't enjoy the series after book 2 or 3. My wife loves it. Take what you like from that, if there is anything to take.
