I was amazed at the suds that appeared
First, there isn't a liquid shampoo or a dispensing device that has worked as well on my dog in the eight years that I have had her. She is a 50 lb. rescue combination of Lhasa Apso and Chow (DNA tested). Her fur is long and dense and difficult to penetrate with any dispensing device or creative application of water and shampoo. I used a shower diverter hose to wet her down until fur was entirely penetrated (extremely important and takes a while) then took the bar and rubbed. I was amazed at the suds that appeared. Kept applying water and soap and before long she was encased in soap bubbles and enjoying every minute of it. Took the hose diverter and rinsed and rinsed and rinsed some more (extremely important under legs around hips and backside). She is highly allergic and prone to reactions once washed. She was soft and fluffy when dry. Slept the rest of the day in the sun. No allergic reaction. Two days later still no reaction but still soft and fluffy with a clean smell. Happy dog happy owner. But the amazing part is very little of the bar was used to accomplish this. I would have been happy using the whole bar and then some to achieve these results. So worth it.

Great Soap! Extra Benefits!
I am very allergic to sulfates so I can't even wash my dogs with the average pet shampoo. Found this soap through another site. Cleared up one dog's 'dandruff' and keeps the others' coats shiny and clean smelling (at least two weeks in the summertime - and we go running in the country twice a week). Another benefit - my dogs don't get fleas or ticks. (Yes, I use flea and tick treatment, but once you wash the dogs, the treatment becomes much less effective - and, with running in the country, they can pick up a lot). When my daughter brought home a different shampoo, I tried it. Within a week I noticed a tick on my bedspread!!! We went back to using this soap! Then, my five-year-old Heeler mix got allergic foliculitis on his head (between the ears) after being groomed at a kennel we left the dogs at for two nights. Should've known better, but I thought it would be okay just once. I used this soap every day for three days and the foliculitis went away. Nothing else. Just this soap.In order to make it last longer because it can get pretty soft after bathing three dogs in a row, I rinse the bar off and keep it out on a soap tray by my bath. Lasts quite awhile and I think it's so much better than the average shampoo. Plus, you're not putting awful chemicals on your dog's skin!

Small bar so went through it faster than I thought but made bath time easier and faster...
I have two dogs, a chihuahua terrier and a cocker spaniel and bathe every 7-10 days. This maybe lasted me about less than 2 months. I am used to buying large dog shampoo bottles so I was a bit surprised at how small the bar got with each wash especially since my dogs are smaller. It definitely made bath time easier compared to pausing every so often to get shampoo out of a bottle so I really liked the bar for that reason, the smell was pleasant and not too strong. My dogs still were scratching themselves so not sure the "itch relieved" worked. As the bar gets smaller it gets harder to use. Will try experimenting with another brand of bar soap but I wouldn't mind trying this bar again in the future, will buy 2 bars instead of one to last longer.

Love this shampoo
Our Beagle has always had dry skin, and all of the "soothing oatmeal" dog shampoos weren't helping, at all. It also seemed like she only smelled nice and felt clean and shiny for a day or two after a bath. Like other shampoos were only covering the dry skin and "dog smell" instead of really cleaning it. I bathed her with this last week and she is still SO soft and shiny! She isn't scratching herself constantly anymore, and her skin seems way less flaky. I'm assuming that it's going to take a few more shampoos for the dandruff to totally go away and for her couple bald spots to grow back. I will try to update. And she does NOT smell bad! She doesn't smell like perfume either, she just kind of has no smell at all, which is fine with me as long as it's helping her dry skin. I think if your dog stinks after using this, maybe you just didn't rinse them well enough. The soap itself does smell kind of funny, but my dog doesn't stink. Its a small bar but I rubbed it directly on her fur and have shampooed her twice and it's barely made a dent in the bar, so I think it should last a while.Overall really happy with this and so relieved that she finally seems comfortable and clean and happy.

Not sure of this rating. . .
I began using this specific dermagic shampoo bar 3 weeks ago, based upon the recommendation of NZYMES.com. My golden retriever has been on this program for nearly two months due to hot spots and itchy skin problems. For the first 5 weeks on this program, I did weekly baths using dermagic's liquid shampoo - peppermint tea tree oil. I have noticed a significant difference in the level of itchiness, which coincided with my change in the two products. Charlie became MUCH itchier when I switched to the bar. In fact, he developed a large lesion on his neck from vigorous scratching. His coat seems quite a bit drier to me and shedding has also increased significantly. I will be switching back to the shampoo soon and just hope that is the best decision for him. It's impossible for me to say conclusively that the bar is the cause of the increase in skin irritation, as we are treating a systemic yeast infection. I can only report on the timing of events.
