Both the wife and I have been avid gamers the past 30 years. My wife had to stop 5 years ago when her pc died and we couldn’t afford to replace it. That all changed this year. She managed to scrape some money together and we did some research on laptops , why a laptop ? Just down to space available. Anyway we saw some reviews online regarding this little workhorse and too the plunge.We gotta say we are not disappointed, it handles everything we throw at it so far. Wife primarily played GUild Wars 2 with me and it handle this brilliantly even with all the settings upto max looks.It easily handles a 2nd monitor connected and the colours on both the laptop screen and the additional monitor are so vivid and clear. She has not suffered with any lag issues whilst playing.I saw someone complaining about the delivery of their laptop. I can only say we ordered one day and it turned up 2 days later . Everything still tightly sealed , all the extras (mouse, headset and mouse mat) were still included and factory sealed.Would I recommend it . ? Heck yes , we can’t find one reason not to .

The laptop can get very hot whilst playing games. Just make sure it is raised on a desk rather than flat against the surface. You can control the fans which is a nice touch, however they are excessively loud on full speed.

Not sure where they get 8 hours from.

Problem with battery life !

Bought for my son and apparently it’s amazing. He hasn’t had it long enough to comment on the battery life and I assume the brightness is perfect. Used mainly for gaming.

Bought two of these, one did not charge, contacted Amazon who just gave me false info on how to fix it. Nothing worked, I even explained that I bought two, one did not charge, but after swapping batteries the other stopped charging, battery was floppy like it had snapped. Replaced the battery at my own cost as it was almost impossible to get help from Amazon. The laptops themselves are good but not what i would call a decent gaming laptop, but for the price, what do you expect. The graphics card in my pc cost more than the laptop. The camera quality is terrible too, but they were bought as works laptops and not for gaming, Apart from the battery issue and the camera quality, they are good little laptops and despite the complaints, they're good enough, just don't expect too much on the gaming side, not saying they are bad, but considering the graphics card, I expected it to be a lot better.. But just to add, never had any problems after replacing battery. EDIT, now the second laptop battery has failed.

Well get it the acer are quality products so get it. Fps in high quality quality game eg. Destiny 2 100+ on lower games such as roblox or minecraft i get 200fps on most but on better games like grand piece online/gpo or huge mod packs goes down 50 fps.I Hope This Review Helped.Highly recommend

This is a edit to my review of my acer nitro an515-57 as it died after less than 8 months of ownership from a failed battery so might be worth considering for anyone interested in buying it was fantastic laptop for the price up until it died and then it wasn't ideal I chose not to return to manufacturer but could have or replaced my it myself the replacement batteries are available from ifixit relatively cheap but I decided to get a refund as I just lost trust in the brand
