OSRAM P VIP 230/0.8 E20.8 Projector Bulb

The item was sold by Amazon themselves and the bulb is identical to the one being replaced and a genuine Osram. Performance is the same as the bulb that came with the projector, but obviously now much brighter since it replaces an aging one. Only takes a few minutes to place in the original lamp housing and much cheaper than buying the entire lamp.Some unknown generic bulbs that have been tested (search for fixitfrank on youtube) use slightly conductive ceramic cement (among other things) which present an unexpected load to the lamp ballast, which can then damage the projector. This Osram is of a known quality, so it seemed prudent to get considering the cost of the projector.

Item arrived on time and well packaged, Went down the road of replacing lamp instead of lamps that come already in holder but over £100 for that privilege and to be honest its not that difficult to change bulb , most difficult part is finding correct screwdriver when it comes to removing holding plate screws round bulb, had a screwdriver set i bought previously for taking mobile phone apart which did the trick only need to remove the front two by the way for bulb to come out and also wear gloves so as not to touch bulb with bare hands, took all of 5 mins to change , switched on reset lamp hours and as good as new again.

Shocking. Terrible. Two out of box failures. After that asked for a refund. Really disappointing. Thought these were genuine, but I doubt it. Arrived in just a brown unbranded box and one even looked corroded. Shame because the original bulb lasted for 1500 hours. Would jot purchase again and I would suggest you buy elsewhere on line. Even the famous auction website sells genuine ones if you search hard enough.

If you need a quick fix these are fine, I suppose, but they did not last long. The quick delivery saved me from a bad situation but within a month or so the bulb grew dim and I had to replace it direct from the official manufacture.

Just like another review on here, my bulb lasted a total of 3 months.It was worth a try and a quick temporary fix but I'll definitely buy a proper one from an online retailer now.
