Not as bright as I expected - but it meets SAD treatment level.
I have their plug-in/rechargeable model (I have used it for over 10 years) but I got this one as a backup. It has two lights vs 6, so it is not nearly as bright. But when I called the company, they assured me that the Jazz has the 10,000 Lux which is the therapeutic minimum for Seasonal Affective Disorder.Brightness is my only disappointment - but since it meets the threshold for SAD treatment, it should be fine.btw, I have been using their rechargeable unit for over 10 years. It has made a big difference in my SAD symptoms - and is so much handier and portable than a light box. I use the visor when I do the dishes or read. A great product that I highly recommend!~

Everyone in the Northern states needs one!
These work! We live in New England, and the fall/winter is brutal on your psyche. After years of blasting million lux white lights into our eyes, I decided to give the green lights a try. I bought one for my husband and one for my teenage son, who luckily tries whatever weird ideas I have to try to help his awful sleeping pattern. They clip to a hat, and he wears it around while he brushes his teeth and eats breakfast and stuff. He said he feels generally “less crappy” during these short days that get dark as midnight at 4 PM. He hasn’t been late to school since he started the light, and goes to bed earlier. My husband has been doing blue light treatments for years and says this works just as good, but more convenient. It makes me feel like I had a cup of coffee before I even have one. Everyone is just less cranky in general. Yay! One thing I want to mention is the batteries- people complain about the expense, but these batteries can be found at the dollar store. $3 a month in batteries for restful sleep and a brighter outlook everyday? Well worth it!

Great Product!
I have been using this for the last few weeks - it replaces my Feel Bright Portable light, rechargeable. I have had two to those which were great - but the problem is that the rechargeable battery never lasted all that long and I had to replace twice. Also if I forgot to recharge it would not be available for use in the morning..- Since this is battery operated - I do not have to worry about that. They both seem to be similar in the light produced - this one perhaps slightly brighter - hard to tell. Both lights are very convenient - wonderful products.. I never really had time to sit in front of a light box for 30 minutes and this lets me walk about and do things while I am wearing it. This is great since I would not have been doing the therapy without this convenience, I do feel a difference when I use regularly . I highly recommend this.

Works well, but the light intensity fades
I really like this SAD light. It is inexpensive and portable. I don’t mind that it doesn’t have a timer because I find it easy to note what time I turn it on. I usually use it for 45 minutes to make sure I get my fix. My only real gripe is that the intensity of the light fades as the batteries wear down. I assumed it would maintain the therapeutic level until it cut out. But you need to keep track and change the batteries. The degradation is slow and imperceptible.

A disappointment.
I've used the other version of this device for a number of years and have been very happy. When my last one gave up, for price reasons I decided to try this new version. I'm very disappointed for several reasons - some minor, others more significant for me. This device appears chintzy and I suspect it could break easily. There is no timer on the light. I relied on that timer. I read while using the light and if it doesn't turn off automatically, I'd be using it far too long. The instructions did not include any information on how to insert the batteries. And no, i don't think it's intuitive for this one. I didn't understand that this one it takes 3 batteries for every 30 days - not a trivial cost. I've now ordered the "old" version and hope it's the same quality as previously!

Not as good as rechargeable
I bought this to replace the rechargeable version. It's super-portable but seems not as bright, which makes sense since there are fewer LED's in it. I will probably leave it on longer than the rechargeable - it doesn't have a timer function. Fortunately 2032 batteries are cheap now. Both this and the rechargeable have flimsy clips. Eventually you may have to attach it to a visor with strong velcro tape.Update: This never reached a fraction of the brightness of the rechargeable. Returned it and am purchasing the rechargeable.

Batteries Required!
While the rechargeable battery in original Feel Bright Light loses its charge after a while, I decided to return this battery-operated model. I bought the $139 clip-on model with rechargeable battery. This time, I intend to be better at following their recharge instructions.

light shines directly in your eyes!
When put on a visor, the lights shined directly into my eyes and I couldn't see anything else. I adjusted everything adjustable, but it was still blinding. I thought it might make a sort of light cloud around my face, but nope, right in your eyes. If you have aging eyes, you'll be blinded for a few seconds when you turn it off.
