Since installing my Delta Lightning Arrestor, no lightning has damaged my system (and no elephants have trampled my lawn and no squid have colonized the gas tank of my automobile - this thing does it all!)

Works Well with the rules for use.
I have installed several solar systems in remote areas of foreign countries. Before we started using these lightning arrestors, we lost 3 invertors and a generator due to lighting. After installing them, we have had zero lost equipment. They do work and just a well as other brands. This rule applies to all brands of lighting arrestors... You want to install one on every external source and external load. We would install them at the source (wind turbine and solar rack, outside the house, grounded to the equipment grounds) and at the power distribution center on well lines, solar lines and wind turbine lines inside the house. Yes that is a lot of units, but it only adds up to about $150 dollars and saved us repairs on our Outback inverter ~$1800. plus shipping and our charge controllers. $700.00. Here in the US, I use them to save my LED lights. The LED is basically indestructible, but the controller / power supplies fail from time to time. I haven't had it long enough to say that it works without fail, but it is very cheap insurance. It has no 'end of life' date as it is just a large silicon diode. It stays shut unless a large pulse comes along and then opens momentarily to dump that pulse of high voltage power to the ground. (In a normal house, I would use one on the well line, the incoming power line and the incoming garage or outbuilding lines. If the garage has a circuit breaker box at the garage, I would use one there as well. (PS. I am not employed, nor ever have been by delta.)

Not a Surge Arrestor, Not UL Listed
Delta Devices are NOT UL listed. They are supposedly lightening arrests, Not voltage surge arrests otherwise known as SPD surge protection devices which are UL listed as 1449 3rd ed.devices.They are enclosed air gap to ground, and take 100000 + volts to jump to ground and are filled with sand. They might help slightly dissipate a Direct lighting strike but little else including voltage surges/spikes from incoming electric lines that may have been hit by lighting a distance away. I have used Eaton Ultra Surge arrestors and Sq D arrestors. Do not buy Delta for surge arrestors or anything not UL listed...

as advertized
Has a ground wire, a positive wire, and a negative wire. Seems kind of redundant. Pretty sure negative is ground in a DC system. No lightening yet. Hope it works.
