Yes, you certainly can do that. I'm not sure what you melt them with as they were a gift to my grandson. He sent me a mokey that he made and the beads were all melted together.

Q: Does it come with the Perler Pegboards and Ironing Paper?

It does not come with a peg board, but it does come with ironing paper. I found it better to use parchment paper anyhow...this way, there are no fold lines which is better to use when making a larger piece.

Q: How many different colors are in here and are they always the same? Thanks.

There are about 10 different colors. The perler tubs come in light colors, dark colors, and then you can buy smaller baggies of them for around 2.99 each. Those ones you can buy separated colors and they have a huge variety of colors including clear, sparkly, florescent bright colors, etc.

Q: What kind of light do you use to "charge" the beads so they can glow in the dark?

The beads absorb light from any light source but sunlight or a bright light are most effective.
