I have to say, I am learning together with a baby. First, I ordered a blanket and then started to look for a cover for it. That was a big mistake. Apparently, every brand offers different sizes of blankets and covers accordingly, Smartsilk does not offer covers at all, so I had to look for other brands. I couldn't find anything for a given size (I found one close enough in size but the price of it was just as much as the blanket itself)!!! Luckily, I have a mother in law who was able to sew couple covers for me. I, most likely, would have returned it otherwise.When it comes to a quality, I am very satisfied. I started using the blanket when my little one was 4.5 month old. It is not too heavy but provides enough heat, I think, it would be good enough for my little one till he is 1.5 years old or so, and then we would have to get a bigger one.

The comforter is thicker than what I had expected, which makes it especially great for winter.However, unlike the king size comforter we had bought before, the cotton cover for the crib comforter seems to be very stiff with rustling noises. I would prefer something really soft for my baby. I am not sure if any material / chemicals had been applied to the cotton cover because normally the cotton would not feel like this.

I'm surprised they call this a "duvet comforter" - it is a comforter; the duvetis a removable cover used over the comforter to keep it from getting soiled;since it's for a baby (crib size) the duvet was just as important as the comforterwhich was a gift for a new mother. I finally found someone on line to make theduvet (from a twin size flat sheet) and it is beautiful and fits perfectly sinceit was made to fit the exact size of the comforter. When I purchased the comforterI didn't realize finding a duvet to fit it would be so difficult.
