I don't get much snail mail but when I do, it always grosses me out thinking that someone's tongue has been all over the envelope. And with Covid going on all over the world, I bet a lot of other people are having similar thoughts.I have always wanted one of these, but never could justify buying something that I'd rarely use. But let me tell you: this is BEAUTIFUL! It stamps just as you see in the photo and I actually bought stationary to start writing to my Grandmother who lives far away. I like thinking she'll see this fleur di lis stamp on the envelope and know it is from me. I feel so regal, so Game of Thrones-y, so important!

This stamp produces a clear and well-defined impression in the wax, just deep enough to create a relief carved look. To make the fleur-de-lis really stand out it should be as vertically straight on the envelope flap as is possible. I took a fine-line marker and drew a line on the rim of the stamp in line with the top of the design and up onto the back of it so that I had a reference point and could visually position it correctly into the melted wax.

This stamp worked perfectly on my wedding invitations. Tip: I've never done wax stamping before and learned too late that the brass measuring cup would have helped a lot.

Worked really well

Only problem is when you do too many in a row the head heats up and it takes longer for the wax to set around it. I also do 10-20 at a time though. I just keep cold water and a towel near by.
