I was torn on this one. I was on the verge of returning it. On one hand, it was a portable dvd player that was far and away cheaper than any of the other ones out there for its size and functionality, but on the other, I could not get the USB to work. Then I began researching the USB function. Surely it had to work in some way or why would they have included it. Then the company emailed me to check in on my purchase. I asked about the USB and got a response. Progress! It turns out the USB has to be formatted as FAT32 or exFat. The USB drive itself must also be 16 GB or less. It will not read anything larger than 16 GB. The final piece is that I have only been able to get VOB video files to work. I'm currently ripping and converting to VOB a bunch of my kids DVDs for a long car ride. I'm using a free program called XMedia Recode to convert the files to VOB. If anyone is able to get any other file types to work, PLEASE let me know! :)So, long story short, it is an excellent value for what it is, but it does take some tinkering if you are going to use it for anything other than DVDs.

This could not have come at a better time. I bought this for myself to do old exercise dvd's and have a light piece of equipment to move around and take when I travel. However, this past weekend my brother was over doing some remodeling and blew out my internet by fooling w my electrical panel. I had the rest of my family there too so we couldnt watch tv till the internet got fixed. I decided to plug this DVD player into my tv with the included cord and BOOM! We instantly could watch a movie...it was broadcasted right to the big screen tv. The player holds a good charge too because I estimate i only had it charging for around 15 min and it played an entire 2 hour movie without being plugged into an electrical outlet. It also has a lighter plug in for the car. My brother is leaving on a flight tomorrow so I will update my review with how it worked on the plane for him. It does work with headphones (not included) or without. Obviously, on a plane you would want headphones cuz the volume goes pretty loud (up to Vol. 20). It also comes with a nice carrying case. Overall awesome purchase, super pleased!

Update: My DVD player is still ticking after all this time, and I'm happy about that. But there is one thing I noticed. I have a specific set of DVDs (Living Single, New Detectives, and FBI Files) that won't play all the way though and work normally as it did when I first got it. All the rest of my DVD collections work fine in my power player (as I call it). And I still use it til this day as when I first bought it.Can I just say Synagy wins again. I already have a 9 inch portable DVD player from this company, and it's still ticking. I haven't had a single issue with that one yet. So I decided to choose this brand again because I wanted one with an even bigger screen (this one being the 10 inch). And I am completely pleased with both. I also like the fact that they're completely smooth and quiet. So if I were to recommend a portable brand that's quality while saving some money, it's this brand. Aside from the big brands like Phillips (which I have also in a 7 inch and it's still going too), Sony ect....The sounds is loud and the color on the screen is rich and bright.

Worth it! Great screen size and easily rotates. Some other reviews said it stopped working after 2-3 times, but we've watched ours at least 7-8 times already and it works fine. Picture quality is great and I love that there's a remote PLUS buttons on the player itself. The battery has lasted up to 3.5 hours for us and can be charged while playing a movie. My only complaints are the volume doesn't go the loudest (I just make my son use headphones when watching it in the car), sometimes the buttons on both the remote and player don't work unless you press them fairly hard, and from swiveling it around a few times I noticed the place where you put the DVDs in is now all scratched up. Other than that, it's a great DVD player for a great price. We bought the TFY Universal Car Headrest Mount Holder for Portable DVD Player for the car and the player fits perfectly in it.

Perfect! I bought this for my brother who has some cognitive impairment and was having trouble watching dvd's on his tv. All that "input select" stuff was getting him stuck sometimes. But he also does't "scan" that well and I needed a dvd player that was clear and big enough for him to see and enjoy the movies he loves.This player is both easy to use, doesn't skip or get hung up, is not confusing to operate and while compact is big enough to enjoy watching a movie on -- at least, that is, for those who are stuck on big screens.He's had it for months now and not one problem or complaint.Best of all, the customer service is prompt, responsive and generous. I contacted customer service before buying the machine because I was concerned if the player and instructions would be easy enough for my brother to manage from the get-go. They were extremely responsive and kind. Then he lost his remote control, which isn't necessary but which he likes a lot, and they helped me solve that problem too.Highly recommend this player.

So far so good. We are using this in our vehicle in this headrest mount:  TFY Car Headrest Mount for Swivel & Flip Style Portable DVD Player-9 Inch . It works great for the purpose of showing educational DVDs. The remote control is great for navigating the DVDs and and it isn't too hard to take the player out of the mount and change up the title. Volume is good without headphones so far as we just adjust the car's radio system to only play through the front speakers and that way the kiddos can hear their DVD and the front-seat passengers can still listen to the car's radio. With all the street/traffic/car cabin noise, I don't hear the DVD player running, but when it is quiet and you are just getting the DVD started (and the car is not in motion) you can definitely hear the DVD playing, but for us it is a non-issue. No skipping that I have noticed. I personally like this bright-cheery red color and for the price, you get a lot of value in this purchase. Kids are happy and so are we.
