For many years, I’ve taken coffee black and unsweetened - and I don’t see permanently changing that. But having the option of an occasional coffee with steamed, unsweetened foaming milk is attractive - festive, soothing to the stomach. That said, I bought this mainly for a convenient way to prepare Japanese matcha, as suggested on You Tube. It works well for that too, and if I want green tea with milk, as a quick smoothie, the GMF215 prepares both ingredients quickly and easily.The unit is almost completely automatic. The only required user adjustment is selecting the correct agitator for hot or cold output, which is not difficult. In operation the machine is wonderfully silent. When finished it signals with lights and keeps the froth warm and stiff for a conveniently long time.Appearance is very good and cleanup is reasonable. There’s a nonstick coating of some kind, but hot milk film (skin) is a tenacious substance! Use of a good bottle brush is necessary. Conveniently, the electrical connection and base are separate and the agitator is removable.

Purchased this for my husband for a gift so I could make him cappuccino on the weekend. It works great. Do not fill over the Max line for foam or it will overflow. If using Fat Free Half & Half foam will not last very long. We mix our fat free with 1/3 - 1/2 regular and it make wonderful, delicious, lasting foam. I use this only for his cappuccino. I use a different one for my matcha green tea. Very easy to clean. Remove the spinner at the bottom of the frother and clean after each use. Then wipe out and rinse the frother being careful to not submerge or get the electric element wet. That's it. Ready to be used again.

This frother is wonderful! It is easy to use, and easy to clean-though I wish you did not have to remove the very tiny paddle to heat milk to clean it. It is so small that I'm certain to lose it sooner or later. It gets the milk hot, and (for lattes) has the right amount of froth. My only complaint is that it does not hold enough milk. I like to make a large latte (Venti size), and I have to froth milk twice for each latte. I would highly recommend this frother!

It works nicely. I have only used it as a frother with skim (no-fat) milk, and it does froth it well. Works very quietly and quickly. Clean up takes a bit of time; washing the tub (carefully, since the instructions say you should not wet the bottom where it gets attached to the base) with water does not remove a layer of milk suds, or something, from the bottom. Need to use a sponge to rub it off, and that necessitates removing the spinner with the whisk, and if the whisk comes off the spinner it is a bit laborious to stretch it back on again. I’m (almost) sure it becomes second-nature to do this after a bit and will take hardly any time – but having only used it 3 times so far, I am not an expert, nor can I speak to the longevity of the machine. Hopefully, it lasts awhile. All in all, it is pleasant to use, easily detached from its base - I carried it to the table to spoon in the frothed milk to coffee cups, some of which goes into the coffee to form a sort of coffee latte, and the rest remains as the froth forever. I would give it 5*, but since the clean-up takes longer than I thought, and I don’t know how long the machine will last, I dropped it to 4*. If it lasts for a few years, I would up it to 5*.

This thing is great. Can't beat the price. We lost the frothing nozzle for our Jura Capressa, and it would have cost $90 to replace. This froths better and faster for about a third of that cost. Our only complaint, which isn't really a fair criticism given that the instructions make this clear, is that you really have to stay very close to the max line or it will most definitely overflow. The mark inside the canister is very hard to see without a lot of light, and going over that at all causes overflow. I just keep a paper towel under the base.Follow up: We’ve now had this device for 5 years. In that time we’ve replaced our Jura Capresso espresso machine, but this little Gourmia still out-froths the machine that costs $1,500 new. Ppl whining that theirs conked out after 2 weeks either didn’t follow the user instructions and abused it or they received a defective product and don’t quite grasp how to make a warranty claim or return something within a 30 day window.

After 2 weeks of daily use, using whole milk,I am very satisfied with this milk frother.Easy to use, easy to clean, one preparation provides a quantity of foamy froth for 2 regularcups of cappuccino.Highly recommended.

I love this milk heater/frother. It is exactly what I expected. It heats/froths the milk quickly . It is made of sturdy material. It looks good on my kitchen counter. The only small design flaw is the pouring spout, which drips a bit down the side.
