Yes its $20 but I spend more on miller lite in 1 happy hour and this bottle lasts a few months. It doesn't have any harsh chemicals so its great for my sensitive skin. Their gentle skin cleanser is ok but I like this exfoliater better because it seems to scrub off more dead skin cells and prevent more ingrown hairs. Sometimes it makes my forehead dry if I scrub too much so be careful. If you're looking to prevent zits- I've found stress and diet (no greasy/oily/sugary foods or dairy products!) have more of an effect than face wash in my case. Just try eating healthy/clean for a week or 2 and you'll notice clearer skin!SHAVING- let me save you years of trial and error: take a warm shower & wash your face with billy jealousy exfoliating facial cleanser, shave afterwards with a $50 Merkur safety razor handle with good blades (save $100's on mach 3 refills!), use a $20 Tweezerman badger hair shaving brush to apply taylor of old street bond (or proraso) shaving cream (you can let it set in a minute), shave WITH the grain DOWN, SLOWLY, SOFTLY (don't press hard- let the weight of the handle and sharp blade do the cutting), lastly rub on a fingertip of proraso pre/post shave cream while your face is still wet and let it dry! Say goodbye to razor bumps and ingrown hairs FOREVER! Trust me- I've tried dozens of pricey face washes, shaving creams, and after shaves over the last 4 years. If you don't want to commit so much money yet- order the pre/post shave proraso cream online, buy proraso shave cream online or at bath and body works (under their C.O. Bigelow label) then get the cheap single blade disposables (mach 3's are too aggressive) at a grocery store and you'll notice a difference overnight.

I've used Liquid Sand for a few years now - I've been lucky that Ulta always sold a Billy Jealousy travel kit for dirt cheap, and Liquid Sand was part of that kit. I finally convinced myself to purchase the larger 8-ounce bottle because Amazon's price is much cheaper than Ulta's. That said: it's pretty darn expensive. I usually use Kiehl's micro-dermabrasion scrub, but at $40 for 2oz, that was getting a bit much - especially for a dude. As much as I love to keep my skin looking awesome, spending $100 on product every two months is nuts! LiquidSand is liquid gold as far as I am concerned. Great smell, has the micro derm aspect, and moisturizing cleanser all in one. Fool's gold because I may be a fool for spending $18 on a bottle of what my dad calls 'soap' - but, it works for me!

I've worn a beard for 18 years during which time it went from a deep brown to silver grey. Fun fact: grey hair is much coarser than brown hair causing my wife to tell me that kissing me was like kissing a broom. The result: I shaved my beard and my skin was ANGRY. I haven't had that much acne since junior high school. My wife suggested an exfoliating cleanser and - like any real man - looked for a bulk product. So I ended up with Billy Jealousy and love it. My face is almost back to normal - although I still feel somewhat naked.

I love this product! For years I never took my face skin care seriously and as I began to age I was overcome with blackheads and open pores on my face. Using this product 2 times a week helps keep my complexion clear and pores closed. It also works great for preparing your face for shaving (razor or electric).

I've used Liquid Sand for two years and it should be a staple for any well groomed man who wants to keep up his sartorial splendor. It's easy enough to apply, albeit a bit rough on my skin for daily use. I use this product every Friday morning, and one bottle lasts me about a year (though I'm sure I've skipped a week or two). All in all it does a great job of exfoliation and I pair it with a daily wash with  Baxter of California Daily Face Wash 10 oz (300 ml)  to keep my face clear and smooth. Also, for those of us who shave using a safety razor, Liquid Sand really adds a nice touch when used in the shower right before the blade hits your face. Really, anything from BJ is a substantial and worthwhile product.

After years of "borrowing" my wife's face scrub and smelling like a rose pedal I couldn't be happier to have found LiquidSand. A real benefit I wasn't expecting is how great this stuff smells! It also works great...almost to good. I don't have particularly sensitive skin but I cannot use this product on a daily basis. Two to three times a week seems to be my comfort zone. Use this in the shower before you shave and you'll have the best shave ever. It is a bit expensive but it"ll last a long time.

I feel like I've been duped. Having nothing to to with Amazon, I received a free sample-size of this product and fell in love -- it was GREAT! What I most liked about the SAMPLE bottle of Billy Jealousy LIquidSand Exfoliating Facial Cleanser was that it used silica as the "sand" ingredient to exfoliate. You know… silica. The stuff that sand is actually made out of. I've tried LOTS of exfoliating cleansers and this was the first one that I actually loved, because the silica made it amazing.(Using silica is perfect! It gives just the right amount and texture of "grit" in the product to gently exfoliate without being harsh. And, as a HUGE added bonus, silica isn't screwing up our lakes, rivers, and oceans like polyethylene beads -- a common exfoliation ingredient in facial cleansers that is coming under increasing scrutiny for its down-stream environmental effects.)Imagine my surprise and disappointment, then, when I received this FULL-SIZE bottle of Billy Jealousy LIquidSand Exfoliating Facial Cleanser and saw that it doesn't use silica -- it uses polyethylene, just like everyone else. And it makes the product worse. It's now actually less effective than many other (cheaper) facial cleansers out there using polyethylene.I specifically bought this product because the samples that Billy Jealousy gives away use silica. I bought it for the silica, but all I got was lousy polyethylene instead.I'll never buy their products again.

I bought a bunch of these to give as gifts over the holidays, and ended up keeping one of them for myself. Though I don't usually use these types of products (I'm your stereotypical man that thinks the cheapest soap cleans as well as the most expensive stuff) I have to say that I'm nearly a convert after using this over the last couple of weeks.Before I bought it I read that one common "complaint" with this around the web is that it doesn't have a very strong odor, which I actually thought was a good thing. In fact, it doesn't have a STRONG odor but it definitely has one that is lasting and I really like it. It's manly without being all "old spice" on you. I'm finding that only a little dab of it goes a long way for cleaning my whole face and that I can really scrub it in and it doesn't just disappear on me making me reach for more of it.I've used other "exfoliating" cleaners before, you know, the cheap ones...and this stuff really does live up to it's name in that there is a TON more of the abrading material in it compared to other stuff I've used and it really does seem to make my face look fresher over time I think.It does seem expensive especially if you're someone like me, but it seems to go a long way, smells really nice and does seem to "work"... I think I'll actually buy it again for myself... it might be sooner than later because I caught my wife using it too.
