Thought-provoking with a wealth of forensically-detailed research
I almost didn't buy this book after reading the one-star review but rather than taking one person's opinion, I'm really pleased that I did. It's a fascinating read and far from being unobjective and biased, I found the author's approach to his subject to be both honest and balanced, an approach that came through in his thoughts and his research on each of the cases recorded. There was no attempt to sugar-coat his findings; if certain details didn't check out, he stated as much, regardless of any negative impact on evidence of reincarnation. As for the comments within that review regarding the Jenny Cockell case, I must confess I was more than puzzled by the accusations levelled at the author regarding the depth of his research. To say he ignored everything except the hypnosis and didn't examine other matters at all just doesn't stand up to serious scrutiny when looking at the evidence contained in the book with regard to this high-profile case. One fact alone dismisses that claim: there are just 18 pages of research recorded concerning the regression hypnosis as opposed to a total of 48 pages on other aspects brought up by the reviewer, all of the findings fully backed up by various official records and documents. Thanks to those records now being available, this book brings a new and factual dimension to a case that originally gave rise to a book, a TV programme and even a film at a time when such research just wasn't possible. As a result of all that previous publicity, this particular case could indeed be considered the most high-profile, but there's so much more contained in this book that will leave the reader with plenty to ponder long after the final page has been turned. And I'd just like to add in the interests of clarity, I am NOT a member of the author's family giving a gushing five-star review. I've awarded five stars as I feel it deserves it, contrary to that original comment which I'm certain could have caused serious offence to those people who chose to write a review and post it here in good faith.

Very fact based book
After discovering many memories of previous lives through hypnosis with Joe Keeton, who also wrote many books about this interesting subject, I find the dedication to accurate research is the key to validation, I have never talked about my experiences as they were a personal journey, it was enough to discover why certain memories haunted me in my present life, and therefore come to terms with them, in his book Jim Alexander has done the extensive research that was not possible way back in the 1970's, therefore makes a much more reliable statement of fact. All the regressions I witnessed were conducted in a way that did not lead the subject, and also put questions in that the subject could not know about, this has all been addressed in his book, well done.

unobjective and biased
Unfortunately he falls into the trap of expecting names and dates guessed under hypnosis to be accurate; they seldom are. This is partly why hypnosis fails to produce verified cases, whereas child past life memories produce thousands of verified cases. In the Jenny Cockell case he ignores the accurate past life memories from childhood, the independent researchers, verified details and the multitude of personal stories and vivid descriptions she gave. He didn't examine them at all, instead limiting himself to his hypnosis. It is quite usual to get a couple of family members to give gushing five star reviews, but most customers can see past that. This isn't a good book.

Evidence gives you pause for thought
I was given this book as a gift and I must confess I was sceptical at first, but the thorough research and evidence provided for some of the cases made me question if there was more to this than I had initially thought. An interesting read that is well thought out and presented.

Amazing research
Absolutely fascinating read for anyone curious to know how past life regression works and if it really is possible to scientifically corroborate.Jim is not only able to help people access their early/past life experiences and resolve deep trauma in the unconscious mind, he also meticulously researches every detail revealed in the sessions an unbiased way. Many of these investigations reveal obscure facts and unbelievable coincidences that would surely be statistically impossible to fake or guess at - particularly in the pre-Internet age when these regressions took place.Even the most skeptical will be left wondering if there really is life after death, and whether they have a past life of their own to discover.
