DVG: U-Boad Leader Solitaire Board Game, 2nd Edition

This is a great solitaire game in which the Allied ships are controlled by the rule system and you control the U-boats. It's an abstract game in terms of time, there's no keeping track of weeks or months, you only keep track of how many patrols each U-boat has made. 1 patrol for a short campaign, 2 for medium, 4 for a long campaign. I am usually able to play a medium campaign in about 3 hours. It's not a detailed tactical game, but the tactical resolution of convoy attacks is still fun and there are things that work and things that don't work which you learn as you go. The game mechanics for the convoy escorts works especially well, if the escorts detect your U-boat it's going to get ugly quick so you have to try and make your attack before they detect you. There is a large community of players at Board Game Geek to answer rules questions, suggest optional rules, etc. All in all this is a great solitaire game with a lot of replay value, each campaign will be different.

First of all, bravo to the seller who sent me the game. About three layers of plastic around the game PLUS thinner pieces of cardboard inside the box! *kiss*All the counters can fit inside two Dollar tree storage containers. Minus some other counters that need to put in cups or bowls anyway. Haven’t played it yet but from what I’ve seen, it’s fun and intense.

This is a very good solitaire game from DVG. This is part of their Leader series, so any experience with those games makes this easier to learn and play. This game plays fairly quick, and doesn't have too big of a foot print.
