The railing is great. The only problem we ran into was connecting the brackets that mount on the wall to the pole itself. If you tighten them all the way they do not all sit flush against the wall. They were all facing different directions. But with a little time and patience (and not tightening them all the way) it turned out great. We were worried leaving some slack in the tightness would compromise sturdiness but so far so good. Rail feels solid regardless.

I was just going to go to the hardware store and get fitting and pipe to make my own staircase handrail and then I spotted this.I needed a length about a foot shorter than this. I thought no big deal I will just cut the ends to my length needed, then re thread pipe ends, done.The disappointing part was the pipe lengths itself was made out of conduit with a black plastic coating over it. It wasn't made of black pipe like I thought. It got marred up during rethreading .So I will cover it with some bike non slip handle bar tape. Which will cover up the ugly I made when rethreading and actually give grip .
