I seriously thought it was a marketing gimmick to say these systems grow plants so much faster than soil, but I was wrong (happily)!I started micro dwarf tomatoes in seed starter in beginning of February. Then I started seeds for micro dwarf tomatoes in the iDoo a full month later.The hydroponics tomatoes are already getting ready to flower (mid April). Still waiting on the ones in soil! I'm shocked, and very excited. I swear, the plants grow so fast, they are bigger in the morning than when I went to bed the night before, lol.No problems with the light timer, pump works fine. Weirdly, tho, I have noticed the plants on the side where the pump directs the water grow just slightly smaller than the other side of the unit. I thought that was odd, but maybe it's because the water is disturbed unevenly. I do like the AG pump system better, how it bathes the seeds with nutrient solution instead of just pushing the water to one side, but it's not really a big deal, the plants are all still growing and healthy.All in all I would say this is a really easy system for anyone just starting out with hydroponics and would recommend and strongly encourage you give it a try if you enjoy growing things. These units can grow food (vegetables), herbs, and flowers very easily. You really just have to pay attention to how large the plant will be full grown. You obviously will not be able to easily take care of 10 cherry tomato plants all at once. One or two, sure. If growing herbs, depending on what you're growing, you can do more plants. If you're going to grow something that's bigger than a dwarf plant, you'll have to learn some pruning skills, but honestly, it's easy. Go for it!

The control system on the unit died in a very short while. This surprised me since my other two Idoo hydroponic systems have been flawless. Idoo's customer service is top notch though. They worked with me to trouble shoot the unit. When we determined it was unfixable, they sent me an entirely new replacement. This new one is working great (as expected) . Outstanding product with outstanding support!

The iDoo Hydroponics growing system is super easy to set up. I'm growing herbs for cooking and it's much more effortless than growing the herbs outside in the summer. They are continually watered and receive the proper amount of light. The water pump inside the unit is super quiet, but if you listen closely you'll hear it running. The grow lights remain on for about 18 hours and off for 6 hours each day. This occurs automatically based on the first time you plug it in. I recommend this system for anyone who wants a small garden in their home. You'll need to supply the seeds, however.

It seemed so simple. And the price was right. But I can't get any plant to thrive in this thing. I've watched all the videos. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The seeds germinate quickly, grow, then start getting leggy, then just wither away. I think I'm going back to the old fashioned way ... growing in soil. My soil based plants are thriving. The plants in this thing are not. I have a premise that it is due at least partly to the pods. They suck the water up into them. They stay wet all the time. I think they are just drowning everything. As for the pump, it barely moves the water. And I have my doubts about the light. My soil based plants do not respond to this light like they do to sunlight. I can't recommend it. UPDATE: I revised the review to give them a star back, for having good customer service. They gave me a refund without me having to ask for one.

This hydroponic system is so easy to use and an effective way to raise seedling or grow flowers or herbs.I’m loving it

I am a beginner at hydroponic gardening. This unit was affordable, self-contained and easy to set up. I'm delighted with the timer that controls the lights (I can just set it and forget it!). The unit is easy to clean, and the little window on the front of the tub lets you see the water level easily. I've had this just under 3 months and am growing the most amazing crop of basil I've ever seen (I was harvesting leaves in about 30 days - could not believe how fast the plants grew).The unit would not be suitable to put in a bedroom. The lights are bright and need to be on for long periods - and the water pump makes too much noise.There are videos on YouTube (independents) that show how to set it up and how to clean it - very helpful!I'm so pleased with it that I've ordered a second one.Highly recommend this for anyone wanting to try their hand at indoor hydroponic gardening.

Lights may no be bright enough for plant growth

Effective was to grow seeds, however make sure you don't let them grow to many roots before transplanting to garden bed as the white baskets become entangled and hard to move. Only really good for growing seeds to a point.

This is easy to use, and it starts seeds very quickly! You can transplant as soon as you see some physical leaves coming out, and it starts off. Plants really easy! Seeds are so much less expensive than mini plants! And this is a joy to have around. Clean quiet and simple.
