12 Solid Sapele Hardwood Garden Bench Slats 1220mm (4ft) 2 Seater

Bench Slats UK product of Sappele wood has the look of quality and strength combined. When the order was received, inventory of items confirmed, I set about to pre-drill the slats for the bolts, washers and nuts that was purchased with the Slats. The conditioning of the wood slats is very important for longevity of the wood, using Teak wood oil which I had, I applied 1st coat and waited 3-4 hours before applying 2nd coat and allowed that to dry before. After the wood slats were dry to the touch, I then began to bolt them to the metal frame ends. I suggest not tightening the bolt & nuts until after all slats are attached to the bench ends. That will allow the bench to "square" itself. Then I tightened the bolts firmly and then applied a 3rd coat of Teak oil to the "top" side of slats. Stand back and enjoy the beauty!!!

Ordered on 12 June but didn’t arrive until 18 July due to inferior product being delivered to supplier so it was not their fault although frustrating for us and Benchslats. Good communication with Harry and Jade, both were very friendly and helpful. We are extremely pleased with the wood slats, excellent quality, and used to restore a bench which was bought for us 23 years ago to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary so it was of sentimental value. (Read Harry’s back story on the website, we are a target customer!) Would definitely recommend the company and their products and would use them again.

Product arrived later than expected. Royal Mail reliability is very poor. However, I did manage to contact Jade at Bench slats UK who chased this up and I eventually received as ordered. The wood is very good quality with very nice grain. I would buy again from here but would clarify delivery. Rating of 4 for late delivery otherwise a 5.

Would have given extra stars but had to sand down to get a nicer finish before oiling. Also had to drill and countersink holes prior to fitting.

Good quality wood (sturdy) however they do not come drilled and require painting/staining. One batten was slightly twisted but still useable.
