Kestrel 3500NV Weather Meter with Night Vision, Olive Drab

This unit is very solid and I'm very happy with it.The slide on case is a little on the heavy side, but that's my only complaint.changing units and setting the altitude is very easy and there is a little instruction sticker on the back in case you forget the key combos - I really like that feature. The unit doesn't need more buttons to control the units since you do that so rarely.The one thing I think is odd: is that to get stream temperature you have to submerge part of the unit in the water but the humidity sensor is very close to the thermometer so you will soak it and will not be able to take an accurate humidity reading for a while.The back light is perfect, I'm not sure what the version without the night vision safe light looks like, but I can't see any reason to use a different illumination on a thing like this.

Very easy to use and seems to be very accurate. Comes in handy when you need the numbers.

I was told Kestrel was the best and i didnt want to go low budget on this item, i got it to better read conditions for long range shooting and i think tjis is going to fo the trick, its reads the slightest of breezes, temperature changes and barometric pressures great....it does way more than i need which is awsome!

Easier than the manual meter. I use for weather reports.

This has been a great tool. I use it mostly at work for measuring data center climate but also use it for SkyWarn. I've found its also pretty interesting to use around the house, but its a pretty expensive tool to see stats for your vents. The menu is pretty straight forward. The update speed is pretty amazing compared to your regular household temp/humidity gauge. The NV version is great for the night use and isn't going to blow out your vision. Highly recommended if you need portable weather info.

Seems to be very accurate in windspeed measurement. I have an older one that I've had for years. I figured it was about time to get a new one. They coincide perfectly.

Sehr praktische Größe, leicht zu bedienen, genaue Meßwerte, was will man mehr? Einzige Kritik: Bei Wechsel in einen Bereich abweichender Temperatur (z.B. vom Haus ins Freie) dauert es "ewig", bis sich die richtigen Werte ablesen lassen.

Ordered a new Kestrel 3500, backup light in monitor not working, returned under warranty. Nearly 2 months has passed and still no meter returned. Communication terrible. Incompetent, Service a disaster will never purchase another Kestrel. Richard D
