Waste of time
Very simplistic. For the most part, nothing but page after page of lists. Lots of off-subject filler, conflicting and sometimes completely inaccurate information. Not enough in depth information to make it worth your time to read. Certainly not enough to grow the plants listed. You can get a list of plants by doing a Google search on edible perennials and then follow the links. You're going to have to anyway if you actually plan on growing them. Seldom do I think a book is really bad and not worth reading but this one is so bad I actually was angry at myself for even buying it.

A list of perennials
This is a very high level book with a lot of filler material that does not add any real value. The information that is included is very basic and you can get all the same information by just searching the internet. You basically get a list of vegetables that are perennial with a few sentences about each. The rest it history perennials and other filler materials.Ali Julia review

A lot of good basic information.
Good basic information but would be improved by more details an pictures of the weeds. Many are plants that wouldn't fit in the average backyard. So, not like you can have 101 in your garden, especially considering planting zone considerations.

this book has good information for those who are starting out with perennial ...
Even though there were some spelling and grammar errors, this book has good information for those who are starting out with perennial gardening. It has directions on how to plant, maintain, harvest and store a variety of plants. It will also be useful for someone trying to get ideas for what to plant in their garden because the book has a nice list of herbs and vegetables that one can incorporate into cooking.

101 is right
This is very basic information. As another reviewer mentioned, it might be helpful if you were completely unaware perennial vegetables exist. It also feels filled with a lot of "filler verbiage... writing to make up a word count but conveying little of value, like you might see in a high school book report.

We currently live in a big city but have fenced off a portion of the back yard for a garden. When we retire in a year we will be using even more ideas in this book than I have so far.

Solid beginner's guide
This book lists several perennial vegetables with which the beginner gardener may not be available, and discusses how to add perennial vegetables to your garden. It is clear, concise, and accessible.

Written for North American gardens
The content of this book is very limited to usual information about perennial plant. Very little information on other perennial vegetables that are not grown as the usual ones. Not many colour photos. Ok for those new to vegetable growing as full of the usual advice. Good for beginners.
