South Shore Vito Headboard Full/Queen , 54/60-Inch, Pure White

I read the reviews after ordering the headboard and was a little skeptical about this item. I actually tried to cancel the order but it was too late - PRIME is a beautiful thing! Two people definately makes putting the headboard together a pretty easy job. Although the instructions aren't the clearest, I have seen worse. If you have ever purchased any furniture from IKEA or Sauder, and had to put it together, you should have no problem. Luckily I read the other reviews and purchased the hardware to secure it to a metal bed frame ahead of time. You will need 4 - 1/4" X 1 1/2" bolts, 8 - 1/4" washers, 4 - 1/4" lock washers and 4 - 1/4" nuts. It comes with 4 little screws to attach the headboard to a platform bed - I could see why people say it is flimsy - those small screws are too small to secure it to a platform bed. It looks like it is made out of MDF board but for around $80 what do you expect. It is put together with cams, locking pins and screws and once everything is tightened up it is pretty sturdy. Since it is not made from solid wood do not overtighten the screws. It attached easily to the metal bed frame - the holes lined up perfectly and the 1/4" bolts provided a secure attachment.

Having purchased a new mattress and bed frame from Amazon I decided to buy a headboard as well. The mattress and bed frame we purchased were great, I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately this headboard is the worst purchase I have ever made from this site. I paid 84 dollars for it and after opening the package and seeing my husband attempting to put it together, realized I wouldn't shell out 20 bucks at a yard sale for this.Pros: The color is nice. The shipping time was reasonable.Cons: Quality of material-In the picture the headboard looks very nice, seemingly good quality. In person however, it looks cheaply made and doesn't look like it would hold up for any length of time, maybe a year or 2 if you were lucky.Workmanship-In 2 separate places the holes for the plastic pegs were drilled incorrectly, so they could not be used. For a headboard that doesn't appear to be very sturdy in the first place, leaving out any of the hardware would just be asking for trouble.Hardware-The screws that were included were all the same length. We thought this was a good thing, thinking anyone could put this together with no problems or issues because you couldn't put the wrong size screw in the wrong place, since they were all identical. However, when my husband screwed them in, even though he was careful to not go too far and leave a significant margin for error, the screws came through the other side of the board, further weakening the material and causing unsightly damage.Function-No where in the description for the product, did it mention that it was intended for use with a platform bed. But, the hardware that was included to mount this headboard to the frame will only work on a platform bed. If you do not have one, you would have to go out and buy your own bolts, etc. to attach it to your bed frame. Another significant problem is the sharp edges, especially along the top piece. Granted, we did not attach this to our bed and try it, but just looking at it once it was put together (or rather mostly put together because of having to leave out some of the pegs), it appears that when/if you were sitting up in bed you would be resting your head at the exact spot where the top juts out. Because this is not smoothed or curved at all, this would cause alot of pain and discomfort and I could not imagine being able to avoid it unless I propped at least 2 pillows behind my head.Overall-- We are very unhappy with this product and are returning it tomorrow for a refund. The saying 'you get what you pay for'is echoing in my head as I write this review. Take my advice and don't let the price tag for a more expensive headboard scare you from buying one. I will be purchasing another headboard next week and this time I will keep in mind that spending 200 or 300 dollars for something that will last me for years and will be of good quality, is a much better deal than finding something for under 100 that is a big hunk of junk that just has to be returned.

The headboard looks good. The construction is also decent - it really does feel sturdy.The main issue I have is how it screws onto the bed frame. Even after attaching it to the bed frame with a couple of extra screws, the top of the headboard still shakes like a relatively flimsy piece of cardboard. Again I want to emphasize the quality of the headboard is not the issue - it is how the headboard attaches to the bed frame.I had some spare pieces of hard foam that I glued in between the back of the headboard and the wall. That solved the shaking issue and I am able to lean my back on the headboard with no issues.I know it is not the most elegant solution, but perhaps South Shore can think of doing something similar. The main thing is no one can see it.

I bought this headboard, the matching Vito Dresser and two Vito nightstands and was satisfied with all of them.You can't beat the price and put together this nightstand looks great. Sleek, Contemporary and sturdy.I used my Amazon Prime and got free 2nd Day air shipping. The box weighed 41 lbs so be sure to have someone lift if you have to move it around. It comes packaged in it's retail box just with 2" cardboard bumpers on each corner, seems adequate as nothing was broken when it arrived.The instructions were easy enough to follow, this doesn't require too much assembly as it's pretty basic but I would recommend you have someone helping you with final assembly so you don't break any pieces. It took me and my friend about 3-4 hours to do 2 nightstands, dresser, and headboard.The only con would be the hardware to attach this to a standard bed frame, it only has screws to attach to the matching Vito Collection Bed Frame, so you will need to get yourself some washers, nuts, and bolts from your local hardware store to attach this to a standard metal bed frame.So all in all a good value in my opinion if you don't mind assembling or having to get your own bolts.

Looks good but cheap wood. Chips easily. Was hard to put together.

The look of this headboard is fine but it is far too difficult to assemble. There are pieces that require screws but have no predrilled holes or even the start of holes like other furniture I've purchased. You can't use a drill because it's cheap particle board that will crumble, so you have to put the screws in with a screwdriver and a lot of elbow grease. I couldn't get them all the way so I'm stuck with a wobbly headboard until I can find someone to tighten in for me.

Nice white headboard that is fairly rigid once built. It is heavy and needs two people to build. Good value for the price.

El empaque llego en perfecto estado, la disposicion de las partes bien ubicadas. El armado queda un poco "flojo" pero aceptable, con las piezas sobrantes, se puede reforzar las patas y el largero horizontal inferior, con eso queda solido ...Un detalle menor en el ajuste le largero inferior .. esta desnivelado con el frente por 3 mm, con un poco de arreglo queda bien

Looks good and seems to be solid enough. I was a little bummed with how some of the pieces fit together and it was a bit annoying to get it together but over all it's a great product for the price.

I should have known that with this headboard being cheap, that cheap is what I would get. The quality of the wood is very flimsy, like chipboard. There were a few chips out of the wood when I received the product, but no damage to the box so obviously someone packed it up knowing that there was damage to it. Too heavy to try and return. Very disappointed :(

I'm very pleased with my new headboard! I must admit I was a bit concerned about buying something of this type on line - would it be tall enough as I have the new deep mattress & box spring set - it sits quite high off the floor. For the price and the fact it was exactly the style/color I wanted - measurements seemed to be okay - so went ahead and ordered. The delivery was very quick and all the hardware came with it which made it so easy to put together. It was up in no time - right height- looks great. I'm so happy. Thank you. I would recommend to anyone looking for this sort of furniture.
