A little book of cat: Meditations on Japanese art of sumi-e and the essence of catness.

All the way through the book, I was both admiring the art and snickering at just how well the author understands the nature of cats and how their ruefully besotted humans interact with them. The illustrations, like all good sumi-e, capture the entirely of their subject in just a few strokes, showing cats in various moods, attitudes, and poses, and the accompanying poems complement them beautifully.Art lovers as well as cat lovers will enjoy.

The sumi drawings are great and the haikus that go with them very feline. A bit pricey for the quality of the book but made great presents!

It is a simple and very cat like book it's as if your cat wrote it and the pictures were very sweet

I actually picked this little book up because I was looking for inspiration for a tattoo i wanted to get. Each page has a sumi-e drawing of a cat accompanied by a couple of humorous lines that give an insight into the mind of that cat. I found it very amusing.

This is a beautiful little book. Anyone who loves cats will enjoy this. Simple and perfect.

a permanent feature in my living room

I've adored Poul's work for years, and I'm thrilled to finally have a chance to own his work. His cat illustrations really do capture their essence, in all their varied moods.If you ever get a chance to see any of Poul's other works, do it! He's in a class by himself, one of the rare few original artists of our century.

I love the wonderful art work, really captures the many personalities of cats. A must have for any cat lover!
