Great replacement battery
Great replacement battery for my MacBook Pro

Well it worked for a few months!
First thing's first, it shipped quickly to my door in no time. No complaints about that. I bought this battery as a replacement battery for my macbook because the original battery would die in about half an hour of use. This battery fit into place easily, but I guess the first thing I noticed quality wise was the light up buttons on the back of it. You know, the ones that tell you how much power is left in it. It's not LED or anything fancy, it literally just looks like 2-3 little tiny lightbulbs were placed behind the plastic and whenever you press the button to see how much battery life you have, they poorly light up each of the 5 dots. You get what you pay for, but honestly that didn't bug me one bit. The battery life for this thing was great. Just charge it up and you could probably sit in an airport without your macbook plugged in for 6 hours without it dying. Don't quote me on 6 hours though, I never really tested how long the battery life was. SO IT DOES THE JOB EFFICIENTLY. FOR 20 BUCKS.Now here's where my cheapness came back to bite me. After about 3.5 months of use, my power chord accidentally unplugged and my whole laptop shut off. Confused, I looked at the back to check the battery. Pressed the button on the battery a few times, but the lights didn't light up. So I guess it just died. Like literally, it just... died. The charger stopped giving it power. Now don't be like me and make the STUPID mistake of throwing your old battery out. I like keeping everything overly clean and if something looks like it isn't being used, it's thrown out. So I just kept this dead battery inside my macbook just to fill the space, because I had no other batteries to replace it. So I got my 20 bucks worth out of it. It worked for a few months, and now it's junk.A few days later, I'm browsing the internets and my trackpad starts freaking out. I couldn't click on anything, I had to tap to click now. I didn't mind that, I guess... until all of a sudden my cursor starts clicking and dragging things that I didn't want to click and drag. I thought it was an internal issue so I shut off the laptop and turned it back on, but it still continued. I eventually turned it around and took out the battery to see if it was the battery, and it was all fixed! I could click with the buttons now. I looked at the battery and it was BLOATED. I thought it was gonna explode on me. I quickly put it in a plastic bag and threw it out. (Sorry, are you supposed to recycle them? or...)So I give this 2 stars! It does the job, but don't expect it to work for the long run. I could spend another 20 bucks on this again and just keep replacing it every 3-4 months, or I could probably actually invest a decent amount of money on a better battery. But for now, my laptop has a gaping hole in the back of it because of the lack of battery, and I have to keep it plugged in because it shuts off if the power chord comes unplugged. Maybe I should just get a whole new laptop.

MacBook Replacement Battery (A1185): So far so good
The original battery in my MacBook lasted for 86 charging cycles, while the second one (OEM) I purchased at an Apple store (for $130 + tax) stopped working after 72 charging cycles although Apple suggests that these batteries should be good for about 300 charging cycles (with the so called re-calibration that needs to be done at least once a month - which I've done, quite religiously). Needless to say I wasn't planning to buy another Apple battery, and instead I took a chance on this ElectricKing replacement. The cover of this battery has a different color from the computer (it is white but a brighter shade), it fits but you can feel the edges protruding (somewhat) from the computer case. Also, the inner case of the battery is plastic while the OEM ones have a metal cover. Although it is too soon to tell (I only had it for a week), functionally, it works perfectly so far: it came in 75% charged despite being cold-soaked for several days while in transit, it charges at about the same rate as the old OEM one and (so far) it reaches the specified capacity when full. The embedded chip seems to handle the charging and to communicate with the computer just fine and the battery does not heat up more than the OEM ones, either when using the computer with the adapter or while on the go. So, barring some catastrophic failure (swelling, leakage, fire, etc.) I think this battery is very good, and at $25 shipped it is also a great deal (even it it were to last half as long as the OEM ones). I'll update if anything were to happen with it, but so far so good - 5 star.

An inexpensive, if imperfect, replacement battery for my aging MacBook....
The OEM battery I have used for 5 years (that's just sad) was bulging at its seems and I was afraid I may end up dealing with a difficult to clean mess, or worse - damage to my computer or other property. It was still holding more than an hour or two charge and was not reporting any errors. It was just making me more nervous every time I inspected the bulge....So I ordered this replacement battery, and it fits OK, it works, but it seems to have less of a charge than my OEM battery had in its first couple years, and the battery status menu occasionally tells me I need to have this 'new' battery serviced. It is not telling me that right now, but did for the first 3 charge cycles, then it magically went away, and then it was back for a charge cycle, now it is gone again (my cycle count currently reads 7 in System Profiler - Power, and it reads 5349 mAh, condition normal).I probably should just move off of this ancient MacBook, but I haven't been able to force myself to do that (despite having a much more capable 14" Lenovo on hand). But now I no longer feel like I am courting disaster with an exploding or leaking battery, so maybe I am good until next year....
