The Smudging and Blessings Book: Inspirational Rituals to Cleanse and Heal

I used it in place of incense as a Catholic Mass played on the TV.

Not sure where to start... I grow sage and have a very extensive permaculture garden and our oldest ( almost 4years ) started having night terrors. My mother-in-law naturally chimed in that my wife was a violent sleep walker as a child. If you do the research there is a high percentage of children of sleep walker/night terror children who have the same prob ..like 95% . otherwise only 1-6% of kids have night terror/sleep walking issues... I said F that this house is rented from a dysfunctional family with kids that aren't 100% etc etc . The people before us bought the house from an A-hole as the neighbors tell us. Regardless of it all. If you have strength of thought and the people/family you are with will believe, smudge the heck out of the place and read from the chapters dealing with cleansing and healing. FYI GET A FLIPPEN COMPASS don't stare at your phone or distract you or your family from the task at hand... No more night terrors after night one.. and after I even smudged my workshop and the car. WHEN MY MOTHER-IN-LAW visits her voo-doo is left on the porch ! lol

Although this book is well organized and filled with smudging rituals for many special events and times in your life, I have rated it a 3 star because:Page 27- the descriptions on p.26 speaks of the 7 chakras, but on p. 27 only six of the chakras are labeled and the "genital chakra" (generally called the Sacral Chakra), is mislabeled, pointing to the Root Chakra, which is shown on the diagram but not (correctly) labeled at all.On p.28 in the description of making a smudge stick, it refers to adding cornmeal. I've been making and buying smudge sticks for years and never have heard of adding cornmeal. That's OK, but I would like to know why the cornmeal is added. No mention of that.In general, more information needed on WHY certain items needed. Such as, why is a yellow candle called for instead of a white candle?I would have appreciated information on other smudging herbs, but the author focuses primarily on sage and sweetgrass.The photos/images didn't speak to me very much. There are so many artistically illustrated books available that I would not choose this again.

A good go to the basics in a hurry book. Lots of info here.

I have yet to smudge but I've read this book several times and go back and highlight so when I pick the day I want to do it I am following the best way to clear my space. I purchased smudge sticks as well and honestly think I've procrastinated because I'm a little worried about the ashes dropping. I know that may seem ridiculous but I'm paranoid like that. I also put things off when I want to be sure I do things right. I have the feather too!! For anyone who is like me with the ashes I actually just purchased a smudge spray that I'm going to use instead. It got very good reviews and either option works to clear your space.

This is a good book if you don't know much about smudging. I wish the autor would've also included some information about how to use Palo Santo, to have both things in a book (Sage and Palo Santo), but other than that, this is a good book to have in your collection.

Nice little book with beginners guidence and nice pictures. Good for starters. Nice gift.

It's okay but it's just written decades ago - we've moved on a lot since in knowledge of spiritual practices - therefore it's very basic. Nicely written though.

Love this book read it cover to cover and used it as a gulideline to my first smuging session so pleased thankyou great seller would buy from them again.
