Great replacement part

I got these for the steadicam project that most people are getting these for, and you actually get four seperate pieces, with four half shafts and four metal joints. However, combing two half shafts into one gimbel joint was insanely hard. The pieces holding the metal sphere in the plastic piece are pretty thick, and I had to put the whole thing in a vice and spread the plastic parts as hard as I could with pliers to get one of the balls out, and had to get someone else to help me combine two shafts into one gimbal joint, using a vice, pliers, and a hammer.However, although not super fluid, it seems like it'll work pretty good for the steadicam project. Just be prepared to use a lot of elbow grease to put these things together. It's nice you get 4 of the little metal joints and half shafts, as I thought I might break one of the half shafts while making the steadicam! I will update this review when I finish the steadicam and get some use out of it.

This is the gimbal most recommended for your home-made glide-cam.You get two in a pack which you can make into two gimbals.How? Just ease off the plastic arm off one side of the ball joint and then the plastic arm will release. Take that plastic arm and snap it (carefully) onto the ball that is connected to the other arm. Done! Now the gimbal is ready to mount into your handle and upper bearing.

Great for my steadi-cam build. Sturdy, quality product.

The shaft itself was made of hard plastic and the ball joints are of metal. Although the fit is tight, it can feel a little too tight at times.

So I get 4 separate Traxxas pieces. NO ONE has mentioned how to get the ball thingy out of the forked thingy so that another fork thingy can be somehow be stretched over the ball thingy combining the the two shafts together. I thought it was going to be intuitive but instead it looks like I'll break the forks as I try to dismember them...

Well made universal joint, which is to be used in other than RC models. Nicely made, quality product, and very very good service from Hobby Soup. Will work perfectly for my needs. And did I mention excellent service.
